The video game, 'Gears of War' is the creation of 'Epic Games', a company based in Cary, North Carolina, USA. Gears of War was first released in November, 2006. The game is set on a fictional planet called 'Sera'. Player of the game (Marcus Fenix) is part of 'Delta Squad', a troop which is assigned the task of combating 'Locust Horde' a subterranean enemy. Firing from strategic locations and taking cover at times, is the methodology used in this video game to play efficiently.

While one is using a shotgun, it is better to fire from the hip. One should resort to hard aiming when the opponent/enemy is at a considerable distance. Regaining Health: Health can be regained without health packs in this game. The simple way of gaining health is to stay in cover for some time. How to Avoid the Kryll?: The enemy called kryll is encountered in the second chapter of this game. One should note that kryll attacks only when the player steps into a dark place. As far as possible, staying in lighted areas is advisable. Propane canisters can be used to create flames and thereby, lighting the surroundings. It is a good way to scare off the krylls.

Cog Tag Search: In the game of Gears of War, the player has to find cog tags and which are a bit difficult to locate. Finding these cog tags becomes easy if one looks out for red Gear logos. Such marks/logos are pasted on walls of rooms with cog tags.

Reloading Weapons Quickly: This simple trick is useful in reloading a weapon quickly. To achieve this, one should keep an eye on the upper right corner of the screen; a meter that counts down, can be seen. The reload button should be pressed second time as soon as the bar of this meter matches with the other, stationary bar.

Chainsaw Roll: This method is used to kill an enemy who is 5-6 feet away. To barrel roll into the enemy, the lancer should be taken out and held in front, followed by pressing the 'A' button. Once the roll is over, the chainsaw needs to be revved by holding on to the 'B' button. A perfect strike/kill with a chainsaw can be achieved only if the roll is straight enough.

Shotgun Roll: This mode of attack is similar to the one mentioned earlier, i.e. the chainsaw roll. When the enemy is within shooting distance, the player should barrel roll into the enemy by pressing the 'A' button. Shooting with the shotgun is done after coming out of the roll.

Reload Audio Cues: Audio cues for the reload mentioned below, should be useful while using the weapons life Hammerbust and Lancer. As the gun runs out of ammunition, it makes a clicking sound with every shot being fired. Such a sound indicates the player to go for a reload.
