Gas Prices Slowing Down Your Business?
Many business owners have mentioned to me that the high price of gas and other products are putting a big dent into their business profits. I have been hearing that many coaches and consultants still have to travel to see their prospects and clients. When you travel to see a prospect, you need to spend money on gas. You will only get paid that amount of money back if the prospect decides to hire you. If they do not hire you, you lose the time that you have spend on traveling and the meeting, as well as the money that you have spent on gas to travel to the meeting.
Other coaches tell me that they do a lot of business development and that they market for clients locally. As a result of higher gas prices, it now costs much more money to do business development and marketing for a coaching business.
If you teach workshops or classes locally, you will have to, again, spend money on gas in order to get there.
Also, as a result of higher prices, many of your coaching clients may be deciding to stop using your services, which, again, will decrease your bottom line.
Here are some ideas to help your business prosper, even in tough times:
- Meet Over The Phone. Before you decide to go to a business meeting, ask yourself if the meeting is necessary. Can you discuss everything over the phone? If the answer is yes, put together a phone meeting and use the phone instead.
You will save a lot of your own time and a lot of money if you start meeting on the phone.
- Work Over The Phone And Web. How much of the work that you do with your clients can be done over the phone and web? Usually you can do a lot of work you do in person over the phone and e-mail.
Again, using the phone instead of driving will save you a lot of time and money!
- Teach Teleseminars Instead Of Workshops. Teleseminars are workshops that are taught over the phone. Teleseminars have always been profitable to those who used them to teach their target market, and now, with the high price of gas, they are becoming even more popular and more profitable.
When you teach a class over the phone, you do not need to drive anywhere and spend money on gas. Just dial to your teleseminar and teach your participants!
- Create A Business Strategy To Get Clients Online. The best way to stop being dependent on gas prices for your business is by using the Internet to get clients for your business. Almost all of my clients have been coming to me through the Internet and you can do the same for your business too!
There are many different strategies to gain clients on the Internet. They include publishing a newsletter, article marketing, search engine optimization, blogging and many more. Start learning what they are and how to apply them to your business.
If higher gas prices are putting dent into your business profits, you need to re-think how you do business. Use the above ideas to change how you do some things in your business and watch your business grow!
