Once you have successfully reduced weight, you must be wanting to build muscles. Muscle building is not as difficult as it seems. With the right pre-requisites like understanding the basics, putting them into practice, and dedication, you can surely reach your goal.

Gaining Muscle with Exercise and Diet

In any weight loss, weight gain, or muscle building plan, exercise and diet play an equal part. For quick muscle gain as well, you need to follow both of them in order to succeed in your goal. However, that is easier said than done. The following paragraphs will give you some information on how to gain muscle with the help of exercise and diet.

Exercise to Build Muscle
As exercise is the most important step in gaining muscle, you need to choose the best workout for you. There are hundreds of different exercise types available which help in muscle building. Working out with weights is the best way to gain muscle quickly. You can work out using dumbbells, dead lifts or bench press as they are the most effective. These exercise methods are great for strengthening and toning muscles. You should consult the trainer as he will help you find the best muscle building routine. Also, you should decide whether you wish to develop your biceps, abs or muscle on the thighs, as the bodybuilding workout patterns and machines change accordingly. You can also build muscles with pull ups or push ups. Start with 10-15 initially and increase the number to as many as you are comfortable doing. Abdominal crunches and squats are also equally useful.

One of the best muscle building tip is that it is not advisable to exercise using weights everyday, as it can lead to muscle injury. Muscles need a lot of rest and hence, you should work only for 3-4 times every week with weights. Also, it is essential to drink adequate amounts of water to prevent dehydration after workouts. As we perspire a lot during workouts, there should be sufficient supply of fluids (water and not juices) to the body. Secondly, diet also plays an important role if you are thinking how to gain muscle mass quickly.

Diet to Build Muscle
You should have a high protein diet as proteins are essential for providing energy as well as rebuilding muscles. Proteins can be gained from various sources of foodstuffs; seafood and dairy foods topping the list. You can get adequate amounts of proteins from fish, lean meats and chicken. You should remember to not to season it with excess butter or vegetable oil to avoid consumption of harmful fats. Milk, eggs, beans, whey, peanut butter, nuts, soy, lentils, yogurt, etc. are also protein rich foods. Sweets, fried foods, cheese, ice cream, candies, etc. are a total no-no in your diet plan. You should concentrate on fruits, vegetables and carbohydrate containing foods like whole grain products, pasta or rice; to gain energy. Do not skip on breakfast or any meal as they are very essential in burning fat and boosting metabolism. You can even have body building supplements like protein supplements in the form of powder or drinks; or energy bars or vitamin supplements as directed by your trainer. Do not skip your workout or meals for any reason. Lastly, 8 hours of sleep is equally essential for muscles to rest.

Remember, motivation, dedication, consistency and determination will help you in reaching your goal. If you are uncomfortable following any exercise plan, talk to your trainer. Last, but not the least, you should consult the doctor before subscribing to any diet or exercise regime; specially if you are suffering from any chronic illness.
