NOTE: Yehey! It's my shift again! But today it's not about City of Nage.

City of Nne, southwest of Eron

Two figures, one sitting on the ledge, one knelling on a zabuton while playing his shamisen. They waited for the enemy to draw.

"Brother, should attempt to defend our beloved city?" said Farr Yonne, while playing his shamisen.

Narr Yonne sat at the edge of the window. He saw enemy flags drawing nearer and nearer. "We should, Brother, what have we promised for our people?"

Farr stopped at the fifth string of his shamisen. "Ikinasai, ani-san."

Narr landed on his feet and disappeared to thin air.

Farr stood up, "Hmph, ani-san sure is fast!"He said softly and went down the castle.

A guard was drinking water while watching the drawing enemy forces. Narr appeared suddenly. The guard spat the water away from his daimyo.

"What is the situation?" Farr demanded.

"Yes, sir!" he saluted, "Unknown enemy forces are drawing nearer on foot and horses. They may have tanks to destroy the gate."

"I'll contact Ase Tiyg, do not buckle."

"Yes, sir!" the guardian left to assemble a defense force then Narr will lead them to victory. Simple as that.

Farr again disappeared and he was now riding a horse towards the neighboring city, Renk.

Narr was playing his shamisen while leaning on a wall. He watched several soldiers lining up, gathering weapons and wearing armor. Lieutenant Sra Lu was behind him.

"My Lord, all preparations are complete. Awaiting further orders."

Narr stood up to make a speech. He stopped at the third string.

"As you all know an enemy is about to infiltrate our castle. We've enjoyed a decade of peace. Former King Ni Pak died earlier this year. He is remembered to restore peace to this troubled land. However, new enemies have come to destroy the peace that King Ni Pak earned! Should we let mere invaders destroy our city?" he said.

"No!" said the soldiers.

"Should we protect our city?"

"Yes!"
"Men, I know that peace now is a struggle. But we have to fight to restore it!"

The soldiers agreed and raised their spears and swords.

Narr played a battle tune, "Go! Your names will be remembered throughout history!"

The giant gates opened and the soldiers marched to their positions.

Narr advised a tortoise formation, it looks like several hexagons are placed. Narrow passage ways are the only entrance, there is no escape. Shielded allies have shields to protect them. When an enemy comes in the passage way, the shields raise and come out spears. That's how the tortoise formation works. It is also suitable for deserts outside Nne.

Narr was playing a tune of sadness while on his white steed, with Sra Lu beside him on a brown steed. The enemy didn't even send in messengers for a war. The enemy is coming in toward the formation.

Ninja carelessly stepped in the trap, those who jumped, were pierced by deadly spears. The shields rise just as planned while scythes and spears played with their feet. After they're dead, several soldiers pulled them inside.

Cavalry arrived from the opposition.

"Sra Lu, proceed with the fire attack." Said Narr.

"Sir, the winds are blowing differently. Should we continue?" argued Sra Lu.

"Proceed as planned." Thundered Narr while speeding his tempos at his shamisen.

"Y-Yes sir." Said Sra Lu. He raised a red flag then archer can lit up their arrows and point them to the enemy and fire.

Narr held the horse's rope and the horse jogged towards a defensive stand with shields. He stopped in the center. He announced;

"Prepare for battle!"
"A-wu!" said the soldiers.

Sra Lu was behind him. "Sra Lu, send a message to the frontlines to regroup."

"Yes, sir!" he gone off.

Minutes later, Sra Lu was coming along with soldiers on foot and on horses.

"Come on ani-san, anta osoi." Said Narr while playing a fast tune and coming in to the shields. The shields slid open like shoji when Sra Lu and several men came in was sealed. The enemy is at full charge right now.

Narr played a tune that can be compared to ripples on water.

Ninja multiplied and samurai are coming in.

They have been heavily outnumbered so easily.

After three notes, Narr froze. "Shine the shields."

"Hai!" chanted who have the shields. They turned around their shields and some reflective mirrors on the shields blinded the enemy. Last Stand: Shine Formation

It gave an advantage to the allies. Narr ripped the strings of his shamisen and pulled the neck, a glinting katana revealed.

"Do not buckle, fellow soldiers, ani-san will be here soon." Said Narr.

The allies charged towards the blind enemy. A historical day on the City Of Nne.

Renk Borders

Farr was on the tree, hiding.

"Come out wherever you are!" said a brute.

Damn it! Where did this guy showed up?

Farr's horse has been shot down by an archer. A brute almost had him.

"If you defect to Coroni, you and your city will be spared."

Coroni? What the hell is this guy talking about?

"What if I don't join this Coroni, what will you do to me then?" I asked, still in the thick branches.

"Hmph, then you will die! Emperor Kyo Shino is the rightful leader of this land!" he boasted.

Kyo Shin? I thought he died on Maki-Lrid campaign. Is it true? I thought.

"I thought he died on Maki-Lrid Campaign, the fall of Hijo Clan during the last war." I said. I still can't believe that Kyo Shin is alive. The Hijo Clan first ruled Eron before Former King Ni Pak.

"The Hijo Clan didn't die, its soul remains here!" He said, "We've took provinces on the northwest. Perhaps you might know them."

This guy is bluffing! I said while drawing a kunai down my sleeve.

"Former General Shin Sai, Dera Zuku, and Gran Kou. The three generals who fought for power, right?"

He was wrong, they fought for peace, not violence.

"They died under my hands." Said the brute.

Farr's heart sank, Is this Coroni responsible?

"Right now, Nne is crumbling and will fall to dust!"

Farr appeared behind the brute, "Take that back!"

An archer fired, the brute fell and Farr had line scar on his cheek.

The brute got hit behind his neck, he stood, "Who did that?"

Farr saw someone move through the trees. He forgot about the brute. His swung his ax and Farr took it seriously. Farr became a log then made and "x" sign on the brute's face.

"You'll regret that!" he said, it echoed throughout the forest.

Farr smiled, his attack was just that weak. The brute again swung his ax and Farr just appeared behind the brute.

The brute fell and his crimson blood spread on the grass.

"You didn't defeat them all, you would have died quickly than you can swing your ax." Said Farr while he darted his kunai on the ground.

The archer appeared in front of Farr.

"Thanks for the save."

"Are you, Farr Yonne?" said the archer.

"My reputation exceeds me then, who are you?"

"I'm just a hunter around here."

Farr gazed at the boy, he was young.

"Is Renk far ahead?" Farr asked.

The archer nodded, "Yes, come with me, do you want a horse?"

"Yes and thank you."
At the young hunter's house, Farr drank water while watching the fire and listening to its sound.

"Oh, sorry for my not introducing myself. I'm Kun Sed, Mister Yonne."

Farr smiled, which he rarely does, "Kun, do you have any family?"

"My father was lost at the forest that time, then my mother died in a disease. My sister died earlier this year."

"I'm sorry for the loss, Kun."

Farr didn't like to chat at the Royal House; he was the type of silent and deadly. After a five minute of stay at Kun's house. Farr was leaving.

"Thanks for everything, Kun Sed. Do you want anything in return?" said the deadly but generous Farr.

"Just my horse, he's closest family. Don't get him killed, please." Begged Kun.

"Why won't you come with me? I've got to call for reinforcements."

Without hesitation, "H-Hai!" said the surprised Kun.
