Ella's P.O.V
I woke up in the arms of the only person I never wanted to be away from.
He stirred. "morning princess!" he mumbled, still groggy from the lack of sleep.
"Morning. What are we gonna do today?" I asked, burying my head in his chest. He stroked my hair while thinking. "well. I think you should get to know my parents."
he said. I tensed. "do I have to?" I asked.
"Yes. Yes you do." he chucked and walked into the en suite bathroom. I groaned and buried myself back into the pillows.
I was half asleep when there was a knock on the door.
"Honey, can you get that? I'm still in the shower!"
I groaned. I had to get up now. Damn. "fine!" I yelled back.
In case you hadn't guessed, I'm not a morning person.
I pulled on a dressing down and smoothed down my hair.
I pulled open the door.
A very scared servant was standing outside the door. She looked very pretty, with tanned skin and brown curly hair. No blemishes. She was slim and her eyes were huge and scared.
"Hi! What's up?" I asked. Being friendly. I don't like people being scared of me.
"I'm so sorry to wake you up so early your highness!" she said. Her voice was clear as crystal.
"Nah it's OK! Is there anything I can do for you?"
"I had orders from Doctor Alec Brayner to tell the Prince when a Miss Katarina Dean was ready to be released from the hospital." she said.
"She's ready to be released! That's wonderful! Thank you!" I hugged her and watched her big brown eyes open in shock.
I ran back inside and saw Chad sitting on the bed in a black dress shirt and black jeans.
"Did you hear? She's OK! We can go get her!" I said excitedly.
"Yeah I heard." he said, worriedly.
"Why are you worried." I asked.
"Ella. She's not Kate anymore. She's a werewolf now. She's Princess Katarina now."
"What.? You mean.." I was confused. Even if she turned into a werewolf, I assumed she'd still be the same old Kate, but with you know. The werewolf bit.
"Yeah she'll be like the same, just different. More regal. And with a different name. We'll have to explain everything to her. Don't be surprised if she seems distant for a while. She'll have to adjust. And also, in public you'll have to refer to her as Princess Katarina and she'll have to call you Princess Ella. But in private you can call each other Kate and Ella. Or goblin and witch. Just like old times." he said. Chuckling at the end.
"I can live with all of those rules, as long as it means she'll be OK." I said.
"Now my turn for a shower!" I yelled and skipped into the bathroom.
After my lovely hot long shower I got dressed into some very nice new black skinny jeans, and a white tank top, with a purple and white checkered top over it.
I walked down the stairs with Chad, and into the parents room.
It was beautiful. About 10x the size of mine and Chad's room, and my whole floor in the building in which I lived could have fit into here!
It looked friendly, and even though it was huge it looked lived in, and personal.
The queen came over and gave me a hug.
"Are you well, my darlings?" she asked me and Chad.
"Perfectly well mother. We have things to discuss."
"Very well! Marcus! Come in here!" and the king appeared almost instantly.
Well I know who wears the trousers in this family.
They all laughed. Damn. Mind reading.
"Mother." Chad began once we were sitting down on very expensive couches.
"My brother, Matteo, bit miss Katarina Dean. A friend of Ella's."
The queen looked grave. "is miss Katarina all right?" she asked.
"Yes. She's fine. She's in the hospital being treated by doctor Alec brayner. You know of him?" he asked.
"Yes. A fine doctor. She'll be treated well." the kind king spoke.
"Well father. She's ready to be released. She's now a werewolf." Chad said.
"Ah. Well. This means she's now..." the king trailed off.
"Yes. She's the princess. Well. Now Ella will have a friend around the castle!" the queen exclaimed joyously.
Yes, but will the people accept her? She is not of true royal blood. She's barely a quarter." the king said.
"Yes. But she is now royal nonetheless." the queen said firmly. And the matter was closed.
Back in the courtyard the limo was being made ready, and I was talking to the girls.
"So why does zander hate me so much? And xanther." I asked none in particular.
"Well. Umm.. xanther. Well no one knows why he hates you so much. I think it has something to do with the fact that you are kinda stealing Chad away from him. He gets jealous and stuff. Maybe. I don't know the real reason. And Zander doesn't hate you! You are just new. He grew up with us and learned to trust us over time. He hasn't really got to know you yet. Plus he's pissed because now 5 people in the pack have found their mates. Now its only Xanthe, Xanther and Zander left." Nyx spoke. Always wise and thoughtful!
"Ella! The limo's ready!" Chad called.
I thanked the girls and hugged them all. I got into the limo and kissed Chad.
"Ugh. Can't you save that stuff from when I'm not here?" a voice spoke and I jumped.
"Zander! And you are here because..?" I asked. Not meaning to sound spiteful of course.
"I'm here to spend some time with my buddy over here." he said. His voice full of sarcasm.
"You know! You look just like Kate's dream guy. Funny. She always said she liked 'em sarcastic." I said.
He laughed dryly. "ha. ha. ha." he said. "chad you got a feisty one there"
"I know! I'm gonna have my hands full!" Chad replied.
I glared at both of them and occupied myself staring out the window.
Not long now. I thought. Not long until I'll finally have Kate beside me. I'll finally have someone normal beside me.
