Funny Cartoon Faces

One of the most common pastimes is drawing. You do not need to be a drawing expert to start drawing. Anyone can draw funny faces. All you need in understanding of the basic shapes to come up with cartoon faces. Many times you end up with some really funny cartoon faces while you are just doodling with a pencil during a boring meeting or lecture.

Even simple doodling or drawing faces is an art and one of the most creative of talents. You can draw any shape of any size that seems like a facial feature. All you need to do is get the hang of some shapes and understand their depth and form to turn your cartoons into really funny cartoon faces.

Drawing Cartoon Faces

• The first thing you need is a paper to draw, a sharpened pencil, eraser and your creativity flowing.
• Once you have all your accessories in place, draw an oval shape. Sketch in it very lightly to define the head of the funny cartoon face.
• Now draw a horizontal line very lightly to mark the place where you want the eyes to be. Now, draw a vertical line that goes straight through the middle of the face or towards the off side where you want your funny cartoon face to look. This line will help establish the center of the face.
• On the horizontal line, draw two small egg-shaped circles that lean against each other and a little away towards the bottom. You need to draw two smaller circles within the egg-shaped circles for the pupils. These circles will form the eyes of your funny cartoon face.
• Add a bit of detail to the eyes by drawing eyebrows. You need to draw two arches above the eyes like semi circles or horseshoes. The more curvy your lines, more funny will be the cartoon face. You should fill the lines with vertical cross hatches.
• You should now draw a large teardrop shape that is a little plump towards the bottom right below the eyes. This will form the nose such that the top overlaps the bottom of the eyes.
• Below the nose, draw a wedge shape that is slightly tilted on the side. The left edge of the line should be lined up with the center of the nose. This wedge and tilted line will form the mouth of the funny face.
• You need to add a little detail to the mouth by drawing a tongue slightly towards the top end of the mouth. The tongue should be heart-shaped with a rounded bottom. Draw a line in the center to add to the shape of tongue. The area around the tongue should be filled with a dark pencil.
• Chin can be drawn with a small horseshoe like shape at the bottom of the face slightly below the mouth. Do not shade this simple line for chin.

You can color the face with colors of your choice and complete your funny cartoon face. You can even try more simple cartoon faces by drawing two egg-shaped circles leaning over each other with small circles inside and a curved line beneath the eyes. You can make your funny cartoon face smile, laugh, cry, frown, worried, surprised, dazed, crazy in love, etc. All you need to do is follow the basic pattern for drawing funny cartoon faces and come you with some humorous drawing.
