Funniest TV Shows of All Time

A list of funniest TV shows of all time. Should be fun because when it comes to television, nothing beats laughter. Am I right?
No matter where you live, who you are, and what you do in life, television is one good thing that will never fail to entertain us. When we are with friends or family at home and there's no other source of fun and amusement, television is the next best thing. On the other hand, if you're having a bad day, nothing like a funny TV show to cheer you up and give you that wide, one ear to the other big, fat smile. I mean, you turn the TV on and I kid you not, there are more than 10 channels that will grab your attention. But no matter what's playing on TV, many of us can't help but watch comedy shows. I guess it's the need to relieve some stress and even for a while, forget our surroundings and get completely engrossed in them. And you will know that there are many channels that broadcast reruns of your favorite funniest TV shows of all time. So I thought of making a list of the most funniest shows that have aired on television till date. How does that sound? Fun, ain't it? So let's get going.

Top 10 Funniest TV Shows Ever Made

We all have different preferences when it comes to watching television. However, when it comes to comedy shows, they tend to touch millions of hearts and make a special place for themselves, don't you think? And since these shows become a part of our daily lives, it's no wonder we consider them to be one of the best TV series you've seen till date. In the following section, we will talk about some of those shows that are still special for us no matter if they currently air on TV or not, in no particular order.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
It's impossible to begin the list without mentioning the most successful TV series, F.R.I.E.N.D.S.; the show is the best. The concept is plain and simple; 6 single friends living in Manhattan, New York. The show is about their love and work lives, and the fact that they are so close to one another, that everyone knows what's going in each others' lives. Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer became a household name and were instant stars. With each character having an important role in the show, we all fell in love with them overnight, and still do.

Scrubs
The show is about the lives of the employees of a fictional teaching hospital, Sacred Heart. The main character, Dr. John Dorian (J.D.), gives voice-over and is also a narrator in this series. However, in the 9th season, the format of the show changed and you can now see Kerry Bishé playing the central role and the narrator. If you happen to see the previous eight seasons of the show, the fast pace of the episodes with amazing techniques to present them, you will understand the meaning of "rolling on floor laughing out loud".

Saturday Night Live
With 36 successful seasons and over 698 episodes, Saturday Night Live is one of the oldest running show on television. With a huge list of cast members, there are guest stars who appear every week to become a part of the live comedy sketches. They have made us laugh, cry, and be completely crazy about them for over 3 decades now. Along this time, they've won 21 Primetime Emmy Awards and have been honored with over 126 Emmy nominations. If you haven't seen Saturday Night Live yet, I don't know what world you live in. Catch it TODAY.

Seinfeld
Who doesn't know Jerry Seinfeld. He's one of the 4 main characters in the series who makes Seinfeld a must watch television series. The cast also includes Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Michael Richards, and Jason Alexander who are responsible for making the show so successful. So what was the show about? Anyone who's a fan of Seinfeld will tell you that the show is about NOTHING. There's actually nothing so special going on in the episodes but we can't help but get sucked in their everyday lives and unbelievable situations. But one thing's for sure; you'll laugh non-stop once you watch the episodes.

Whose Line Is It Anyway?
Drew Carey presents the show with the 3 star performers - Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady, and Colin Mochrie. There is always a 4th performer, usually a guest on the show where they make up characters, songs, scenes, and jokes on the spot. Drew Carey and the audience members give suggestions on what kind of a skit they can do, and we all watch them adapt each role and character to the fullest. The introduction of the show, by Drew Carey actually sums everything up for Whose Line Is It Anyway? - the show where everything's made up and the points don't matter.

South Park
The show is an animated satirical sitcom that is filled with dark comedy. Trey Parker and Matt Stone are the creators of this wonderfully funny and surreal show where 4 boys play the main characters - Stan Marsh, Eric Cartman, Klye Broflovski, and Kenny McCormick. The show is based in a fictional town, South Park, Colorado. Every character is different from the other and you will understand them as soon as you put the first episode. Even though the TV series is animated, it is only intended for mature audience because of language, animation, and humor. Which is why, South Park makes one of the most popular shows; no doubts.

I Love Lucy
I can confidently say this that one look at Lucille Ball and you'll have a smile on your face. It's not because she was funny looking, but her expressions were unbelievable. Her punch lines, comedy timing, and the way she would carry the entire episode is remarkable. Which is why, I Love Lucy is still one of the most funniest shows on television. The cast included her real life husband, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance, and William Frawley, who play her neighbors. With 9 seasons of pure laughter and fun, we definitely love Lucy till date.

The Simpsons
You will never find a family this interesting, satirical, and funny as heck. The show consists of 5 main characters - Homer (the dad), Marge (the mom), Bart (the son), Lisa (the daughter), and Maggie (the little one). This animated show depicts a regular working-class American family in a fictional town of Springfield. With a total of 22 seasons and about 481 episodes, The Simpsons deserves a rightful spot in our list.

Two and a Half Men
Let's go through the main characters of the show and you'll know what this series is all about. Charlie Sheen plays Charlie who is an alcoholic jingle song writer and is a bachelor who has several one night stands with girls half his age. Jon Cryer plays Alan Harper who's Charlie's brother. He's a divorced chiropractor and a father of a son; also, he makes horrible decisions in his love life which is mainly fun to watch. Angus T. Jones plays Alan's son, Jake. He's funny in his own I-have-no-idea-what's-going-on-around-me kind. There are other recurring characters in the show that make Two and a Half Men a fabulously funny series. Even though Charlie Sheen has been fired from the show recently, the previous seasons are nevertheless funny and filled with laughter. Definitely, a must watch.

The Office
Before we begin, there has always been the confusion between The Office - US and The Office - UK. The confusion isn't that audience can't figure out which is which; the thing is that people who have watched the original series The Office - UK swear that it is funnier than The Office - US. Now I happened to watch them both so I would say that both TV series have a charm of their own and can fight neck to neck. I really can't choose between Ricky Gervais and Steve Carell. So I would advice you to catch them both as neither one should be missed out.
