Fun Games for Kids
Do you often scratch your head and sit with a pen and paper every single time you have to organize your kid’s birthday or a slumber party? You seem to have a problem with what to do to keep the kids entertained, occupied and out of your hair? This means you need some fun games for kids. But suddenly your mind is blank or filled with ideas for food! Yes, food is important but we are talking about games here. Activities that will ensure that the kids have some fun run around a bit and exhaust some of that pent-up energy.

And then there is the pressure from you 11-year-old (pre-teen!!…. You need help) who wants his or her party to be the coolest and the most fun. Your kid is at that age where they embarrass easily and also they want to show how ‘cool’ they are. Yes those games are important for your sanity. Worry not, there is a whole plethora of fun games that can used to keep the kids entertained, all you need is some creativity and patience.
  • Treasure hunt – this game is my favorite, it brings out the child in me. It’s a blast for kids as well, the fact that they can be like a pirate or detective on a hunt for some hidden treasure. This game is great hit if you have a large garden or back yard with lots of trees and obstacles where ‘treasures’ can be hidden. What you will need is goodie bags filled with little gifts or candy and also you will need to make up some clues that will help the kids get to the treasure. Keep the clues simple so that the kids can understand what they have to do and where the treasure is. If you want the treasure hunt to be long, you can have more clues and obstacles for them. If there are too many kids, divide into teams.
  • Pin on – this is a very popular and fun filled game that comes in different varieties. Depending on the type of kids you are organizing the game for, the game can be pin the tail on the donkey, pin the earrings on the princess, pin the hat on the sailor boy or anything else. All you will need is a blindfold, a picture of a donkey, queen or sailor and a pin with a tail, earring or hat on it.
  • Piñata – the piñata is one of the most popular and must-have games at any kids party. The piñata need not be a horse, it can be a regular sack or bag filled with candies, toys, stickers and party favors. Make sure that there is adult supervision as there is the use of a stick in this game for the kids to hit the piñata with.
  • Bring me – this is a game full of chaos and commotion, but that’s what kids love. In this game, you, the host will tell the kids to ‘bring’ certain items, and the kid who gets it the fastest will get a party favor. Its fun and exciting, not only for kids but for adults as well.
