Full Moon

This was when I looked out side and wished we could watch the moon and stars together.
Dark velvet skies and windy nights.
The humble yet gentle clouds afloat over head.
I'm laying on my back looking at the full moon tonight,
Knowing where I want to be instead.

Her eyes are what I picture in my mind.
Along with her face, her rosy cheeks, and her succulent lips.
Although our memories of the good times aren't hard to find,
I find myself counting each one of the tocks and ticks.

And if I was there beside her, my hand would stoke her hair,
But because I'm not, my hand is forced to a clenching fist.
And even when the time comes, and I'm with her,
There will never be another full moon like tonight such as this.
