Friends come and go through your lifetime
I have seen fade some dear friends of mine
Many come and go before my eyes
Some friendships end with heartbreaking cries
It’s difficult to predict who will last by your side
And is hard to understand how past friendships have died
Some fade away slowly over a matter of years
Some will end in a flood of heart ache and tears
You may betray a friend, a friend may betray you
It’s difficult to see which friends will stay true
But over the years you will start to see
Who will be there and who will flee
Friendships I thought would exist til death do part
Have seemed to have left my ever dear heart
Friendships are special to keep close to you
But the ones that stay near are very few
Good friends stay by your side when no one else does
Time spent with them will give you a buzz
They help you through the difficult years
They help you to get through your biggest fears
Some stay near and some can leave
Some friendships are hard to believe
But at the end of the day
Just be grateful to say
That you have a dear friend by your side
That is there with you on this life-ride
It’s rare to find a good true friend
Someone who 24/7 has a hand to lend
And it’s these you should treasure
Forever ever and ever
Because they are the ones that are there for you
They are the ones who will see hard times through
Friends will water your plants and feed your pup
And if you fall down they will help you up
But the bestest of friends, the ones that stand tall
Will be the ones ready to catch you before you fall
Don’t block out these friends, or let them fade
Because in the future that price will be paid
When you realize they’re not by your side anymore
And you will feel ever so very poor
The richest of people are the ones with good friends
Because riches is what good friendship sends
Look after the people that you care for
Don’t let them slip away, take action before
If it doesn’t work out but you tried your best
Then fair enough, don’t think of yourself any less
But if they slip away because you didn’t show you care
Then before they go fully, try to repair
Good friends are the ones who will love you dearly
And good friends you can see from miles so clearly
