French Pedicure

A pedicure is a great way to groom your feet and make them look the best. A peep-toe or open sandal can grace your feet and look ultimate only when your feet and toenails are in a good condition. Well, spending a lot of bucks to get the pedicure done from beauty salon is of no need. Here's how to do a French pedicure at home and make your feet look just awesome. Before you follow the procedure, let me tell you what happens in the procedure. This is just like the popular French manicure. While foot cleaning, foot massaging, callus removal and nail filing is same as that done in other type of pedicure, the main difference is the way nail polish is applied on the nails. Following the Procedure

Step 1
Start by removing the existing nail polish thoroughly. Now start cutting your nails straight across. Don't shorten the length, keep them at medium length for the best look. Now file them using a nail filer to give a square shape. You can have slightly rounded edges.

Step 2
Now it's time to have a relaxing soak and massage procedure. Buy a foot spa, fill it with warm water, add soap and soak your feet. Turn it 'on' and sit relaxed for about 20 minutes to get a good massage, soften and clean your feet. If you don't have a foot spa, take warm water in a tub, add bath salts, a tsp of olive oil and soak your feet. You can also add essential oils. Well, it's a great way to relax as warm water works wonders on your feet.

Step 3
Now take a body scrub and exfoliate your foot thoroughly to get rid of tan and dead skin. Also clean the nails using this. Wash it and take a foot scrubber or pumice stone to rub your foot. Smooth your heels and cracked feet using a foot file.

Step 4
Apply cuticle cream on your nails and wait for 1 - 2 minutes. Now push back the cuticle and remove the dead skin on the nails using a cuticle remover. Clean the nails from corners, inner corners and inner sides of grown parts of your nail. Use a nail buffer to make the nail even and clean.

Step 5
Get one of the best foot massage lotions and start massaging your foot. Work on the entire foot, the toes, heels and each part. Well, have a look at your lovely foot. It's time to make them more beautiful with the following steps.

Step 6
Clean the nails to remove all traces of oil and cream. Get a toe separator and put it on to create space between your toes. You need natural pink or peach nail color and a white nail color for the pedicure. You will also need a base coat and a clear or top coat. Well, work on your nails very carefully to get that perfect look.

Step 7
Apply the base coat on all the nails, best to work on one foot at a time. Let it dry. Now take pink or peach color and apply it on the nails, starting from the bottom, till the tip of your nail. Let it dry. Apply one more coat of same nail color. Again, wait for drying. Now, the tricky task of applying white nail color follows. Apply a thin strip of white nail color horizontally, on the free edge of your nail. Let it dry. Apply one more coat. Be careful while applying this coat. Once this is dry, apply top coat to finish the pedicure.
