Freedom

The light rips through the sky as I see you.
Peace and happiness take me over,
As my heartbeat quickens.
I run excitedly towards you,
You embrace me as I breathe in your scent,
Making me dizzy and confused.
I stumble forward and,
You catch me wrapping your arm around my waist.
Looking concerned you ask if I'm okay,
I reassure you with a smile.
We lay in the tall grass, as the wing blows it slowly,
While you hold my hand.
I glance over at you watching the way.
The sun shines on your face,
Realizing I'm looking at you, you smile, sitting up.
Your smile leaves me gasping for air.
I do nothing but watch you're every move.
You grab both of my hands pulling me to my feet,
Causing me to slide into your arms.
I slowly push myself off you,
Looking up towards the sky realizing the sun is setting.
Our time together passes much too fast.
We walk back up the path through the woods, hand in hand.
We finally come to a stop, you kiss me softly on the lips.
I look down at the ground, not wanting you to go,
Missing you is the worst part of my life.
You place your hand gently on my chin, raising my face up.
Your put your arms around me, and whisper,
"We'll see each other again soon, I promise."
I sigh kissing you, then turning down the path to walk the rest alone.
I have hope, for I know you will keep
Your promise.

This will always be true.
