Free way to promote your website

Do you know that it is important to obtain quality and relevant back links to your website(s)? So what is back link? Back links are incoming links to a website or web log. The number of back links is an indication of the popularity or importance of that website. Back links help to increase both Page Rank and traffic flow. One simple and yet effective way to build relevant back links is to write articles and submit them to article directories.

If other web owners think that your article is useful and relevant, they will certainly put them into their own websites. This will help to provide inbound links and traffic flow to your website eventually.

To promote your website successfully, you need to keep in mind the following things:

Writing a quality articles:

Putting into the shoes of a web owner, we normally look for informative or entertaining content to our visitors. As such, we should also try to write good articles so that other web owner will put our articles into their web page.

Writing an article that is simply a sale pitch may not have any chances to republish. Instead, you should be writing a useful article that provides useful and relevant contents so that others will want to read. If you keep the reader's attention till the end of your article, you will be certain that they may likely to read the author resource and visit your site.

You should also keep your copy readable. Technical terms unless the subject matter calls for it should not be used. Besides, you should not use acronyms without explaining what it means at least once in the copy, because, although it may be familiar to you, it is not possible to assume that everyone understands it, also do not use difficult or complicated words and grammar, these will only slow up the reader and break his or her concentration.

Making full use of the author resource:

Do you notice that there is usually a resource box appeared at the end of your article? Most article directories will allow links to be display there. You should always make full use of them and use them to link back to your internal pages as well as your home page.

Getting inspiration for a useful article:

Where can you get ideas and what to write about? These are the sort of comments that could be heard all the time, from people who panic at the thought of putting pen to paper (or sitting at a keyboard).

A quick way is to start of is from your web page. By asking yourself what is the topic, or theme, of your website. You should be able to answer to that question quickly and start off to write your article.

If you do not have any website, you could think about your hobbies, interests, skills or experience. That is what you should start to write about - the things you know about and have experience of. You have spent years perhaps following an interest or hobbies and so why not pass on some of the experience you have gained. You may not be an acknowledged expert in that field but your accrued knowledge will makes you more of an expert than any newcomer to that hobby. This will give you the opportunity to pass your experiences on and help someone else who is just starting.

Getting resources for your article:

One good source for gathering information is the use of public domain. Do you know that websites like Wikipedia provide information that is copyright free? You could make use of those information and crafted into articles. However, you should not to just copy and paste these public domain contents.

The other way is to perform a keyword search for your article subject and you should have a lot of resources to work on. Just be sure to respect copyright laws.

Note that the more you write, the more experience you get and the better and more confident your writing will become.
