If you are interested in using articles as a marketing option, you will need to know what kind of software will be useful. Basically, what makes article marketing easier and increases your chances for success.

Obviously, you have to write the articles in order to begin article marketing.

Many authors have turned to Article Submission services and softwares to blast articles to 1,000's of directories and free sites. Now these services can run well into the $100's. They offer unlimited submissions and you don't have to lift a finger. There are also options that allow you to have preset dates for certain articles.

These are definitely the best selling article marketing products. They have proven to be the most effective tools for marketers everywhere. But there is some FREE software that can increase your chances of success. They dont offer as many directory submissions, but the one I used submitted to over 200 directories. It was something that opened the door for me, and once I got the hang of it, I had a good idea of how to use article marketing effectively.

Traffic Direction

The last step in article marketing is where to send visitors after they view your articles. Usually when we are using article marketing we have a plan, or business model that should be used for optimizing the article marketing efforts. We should be using a landing page of some sort, if trying to sell a product. If not, a blog or a simple website will do. But some marketers want to create leads for their lists. That's when Autoresponders can be great for traffic direction.

Marketers usually set up an autoresponder code on the landing page, so that after someone reads the article, they can then sign up for a newsletter or for more info.

Autoresponders almost always require a monthly fee. Sometimes you can use a software. But most people find that setting up the software is to complicated. And you have to have website that supports cgi-bins and c-panel. So its usually way more convenient to just pay the monthly fee. And honestly, the monthly services always come with way better options and reliablilty. These services never cost more $20 a month. But you can get a quality set up for $10-$15.

FREE Autoresponder

There are some FREE autoresponders out there that offer a decent way to start your list building efforts easily , and without much experience. Most of the time your options are very limited. You cant attach files, your list is limited to the number of subscribers, and a few other things that make autoresponders quite useful. But for getting started the one I linked to is probably your best option. It comes with 5 autoresponders and up to 500 subscribers for each one. Which should be good for someone that is just starting out.
