Freaky Friday - Part 2
They all looked at each other, not saying a word, but I could tell from their eyes, that they were "talking" to each other. Lauren glared at them, as if to tell them: Cut it out! They all stopped and sat quietly.
"Ehh, can anyone please explain what is happening? Why is my necklace and all of yours glowing? Why is mine changing a different color? Why can't I wear my key that a best friend gave me from Italy with pride, instead of having to hide a unique piece like this?" I asked them, my eyes flickering to each of their faces. All of them had an uneasy expression, but they all stared at Lauren.
"Okay, lemme just explain this to you Em, but quietly, we kept this away from you, even your Mom didn't say a thing before, because if they found out we were all together in the same area, and not spread out, we will be killed easily." Lauren replied, as she quickly, but silently closed the blinds of the windows.
"We are from a planet way far from Earth. Not one human has discovered it. It is still out there, but it is now in ruins because we had been attacked. We are the only kind left from this planet, and have been chosen to be sent to Earth with our parents when we were born, to keep not only us alive, but our kind alive. It was said that our kind and our powers have spread to only 3 more humans, in our school. It is also said that one has the necklace, while the other two don't. Oh and they are 2 boys and 1 girl. We heard about this ever since we started high school. Our king is still alive, but hidden. Our parents told us about our powers when we were all in the same middle school. We became friends altogether, and I remember my mom said that there was another girl, named Emily Quinn. I looked for you in middle school, and we all became great friends over time. You are the only one who didn't know about what was happening, and you are also the most powerful out of our whole group." Laren explained.
I tried to get this all in my mind.
"So... why didn't you mom tell me about anything? People told me that when I was in middle school, my mom was on a trip in California and got into a car accident, and my father was out at work, and never came back. I've been here with cookie-dough for a couple years, living alone. And the only company I had were you guys. By the way, who attacked us, what are my powers, and how are we going to find these 3 humans that have gotten our powers?" I asked again.
This time, Michael replied,
"Actually, your mom didn't tell you because she wanted to keep you safe. Your parents and all of ours went back to our planet to fight for our planet, but were killed. So your, um..., parents weren't at work and at California. Your powers are actually the rest of ours, but combined. The color black keeps showing up, meaning that, that color won't reveal itself yet, until we discover your own unique power. We've been trying to find those 3 for 2 years already, and time is running out. Soon, they will probably go to different colleges, and so will we in two years, making us have a harder time to find them." Michael explained patiently.
"So... so basically my mom wasn't in a car crash? My dad wasn't at work? They... they left me to fight for our planet?" I said aloud, tears building up in my eyes. This was a little too much.
"All this time I just thought my father hated me and left me, and my mother was in California, and in a car crash, when they have actually been fighting on our planet and died? What kind of planet is this? Why didn't all of our parents stay here?" Tears began to overflow, trailing down my cheeks.
"We all saw this planet, for a little more than a glance. I remember my mom telling me stories of this planet. Our planet. Plant Z, a place where nature was everywhere, with waterfalls, and rain forests. And also places such as Fire valley, Water city, and plenty more. I was born in Fire valley, a year before you were born in...Paradise Isle." Colleen said softly.
So all along, I've been the only one that hasn't known this huh...
