Frantic Scream

I lie here in this pit
My whole body drenched with agony
I cannot talk, I cannot hear
I can only see the darkness
The moonlit trees brush and shove against each other,
To let me know that they're still with me.
You can see it in my eyes;
I lie eager to get out
I lie eager to escape,
From this hell
From this hole, much like the hole in my heart.
The anguish is unbearable
I close my eyes to try to lessen my despair
But the sorrow finds a way
To inject itself into my bloodstream.
The sadness always comes
The pain always finds me.
I lash out a frantic scream
In hope that someone will hear me
In hope that someone will come.
