Fragile

Hopefully my poem says it...please do not copy without getting my OK - thanks :)
It keens below
Like a sea sound
Beyond all human hearing
Except mine

Sometimes it's waiting
Silent, musing
Then it lodges and sings
Like nails
Lumpy, inevitable
It cries out in distress
The injustice
The loss
Of what?

Deep sadness
It calls in the hollows of the heart
In the pooling of mine eyes
What sorrow is this?
That takes center stage
In many acts
Appears in many scenes
Is unwitnessed
And yet sitting as a poignant presence
Under my ribs

Is it a sweet stabbing call
That emits only when answered
Or is it omnipresent
A reminder of what was done
Of what was chosen
A hard choice

A pain residing
With a question
From what
With what lesson
If a lesson exists

Will it mend
How is it done

Tears harden below
Sadness leaks
