Found but still looking for Him

It is so obvious today the general tendency to get all you can from all material things…without even thinking that someday…we like all other humans, we’ll have to leave everything behind and meet our Creator. Let’s get close to Him now…while we have the chance!
Found but still looking for Him
Tozer wrote a "heart theology, not a mind theology", a book called "The pursuit of God", which is like an extension of the soul, better to say, the soul's pursuit of God.

The word "pursuit" is more than just a search; it is a very important search, like everything would depend on the object that is to be found. When the police chase somebody they use everything they have, from a few cars, to SUV's, tanks, helicopters… That is how we have to pursue God; with everything we are, with everything we have. Nothing else is more important! Everything depends on our desire to pursue and find God.

But why do the children of God have to pursue the One they already found? What else could they find?

Maybe most of us, who call ourselves children of God, stopped desiring for something more from Him. Maybe we are satisfied with our present state, trying to apply a biblical principle in a place if doesn't fit. When was the last time you cried: "God, where are you?" How long has it been?

May God keep us away of the wrong idea that it is fine the way we are right now! When you try to know a person better you look forward to spending as much time as you can with that person. If that person is your love, than you will try to share ALL your time together. God is a person, too! He suffers, He is angry, He can be upset, He laughs etc. Why do some Christians treat God like a doll? When you say "Oh, I am sure that God won't mind if I read the Bible later"…you are far away from God. Shame on us! Are you willing to spend time with God as much as you spend time with your girlfriend or boyfriend? Are you in pursuit of God every morning? Do you follow Him until you find Him? If not, you don’t even know how much you have to lose and it is even worse if you call yourself a child of God!

The people today think they managed to get rid of God; nobody needs God anymore. A few years ago, most of the people would say that in hidden places; today, many say that out loud. Somebody, one day, decided that God is dead, so he wrote on a wall "God is dead", after which he signed his name. Years passed by, and he died. A Christian saw this writing, and continued "Mr. X is dead, God".

Why is it that nobody needs God anymore? Why is God so repulsive for today's world? Probably the most certain answer is located inside each man's heart. Everybody replaced God with his ego. This stands now in place of God. Satan realized how to twist around man’s hearts, so they may not see whom they should belong to. Christians are under the same attack.

Unfortunately, many good Christians today are on the wrong path, a path set before them by Satan. Things like Think and grow rich, Success motivation, Positive Mental Attitude, destroyed many Christians. And the deceit is so clear, even if is packed in shiny and beautiful covers: since the beginning of the world Satan tells people that they can be like God. God says that He should be the first in a man's life, and we try to improve our image. Christ showed us how far our humiliation must go, we now try to be successful Christians. Jesus chose humiliation, we chose success.

Where is Christianity today? When Jesus will come, will He find faith on earth?

How is your life? Are you close to God, or to yourself? Is He no.1, or are YOU the no.1 in your life? Are you in pursuit of God? Are you looking for a closer relationship with Him?

One certain thing that tells me that someone will give up under Satan's attack is when I see that person not liking his fellowship with God. Are you one of them? Is your love for Him weaker?

My heart said to You, Seek my face; Your face, O Jehovah, I will seek. Psalm 27:8

Yes, Amen! May that verse be a reality for us; and a reality for you!
