Found a Great Home Based Business Yet?

How many home based business opportunities have you tried?

Unless you're the new kid on the block, you've probably tried several. I know I have. I tried selling soap (you all know that one), vitamins, online detective software, cheap long distance, cell phones, credit cards, term life insurance, and more.

Well, you probably get the point. There are a lot of opportunities out there. And, it's not bad to gain experience with several of them.

But, most people are not as successful with a business opportunity as they expected. Sure, there are people making tens of thousands of dollars a month. And, there are great compensation plans. And, your sponsor probably explained that being in a business will produce all the great results you want.

But, you and I both know that something is missing from this equation. Why is it that the average person does not succeed is a business opportunity?

I believe there three basic reasons for failure in a home based business opportunity.

First, the average person doesn't have a strong enough desire to succeed. Sure, it would be nice to vacation anywhere in the world. Sure, it would be nice to get up when you want to rather than when the alarm goes off in the morning. But, the average person is not driven to persevere and work through problems, trials, and disappointments.

Second, the average person thinks like an employee. They believe they deserve rest and relaxation because they've worked 8 hours at an unpleasant job, put up with rude comments from a boss they don't like, and fought the rush hour traffic going to and from work.

The average person has few short term or long range goals he or she is driven to accomplish. So, they exert as little effort as is necessary to get by.

Third, even if someone has a strong desire to succeed, they have little direction that leads them along the path to success. They often face the fact that they just don't know what to do next.

Sure, many programs provide enthusiastic, motivational speakers who emphasize their success and the rich, full life success brings. Such presentations may help build the desire of the distributor or member to "want" to achieve success.

But, too often, home business opportunities present too little in the way of "nuts and bolts" training on how to succeed. So, even if you're motivated and thinking like a business person, you probably still don't know what to do next to succeed.
