Forum Posting: Credibility and Link Juice

When you are looking to build credibility and a little link juice then nothing with the exception of article marketing, is better than forum posting.

The first thing you want to do when you begin forum posting is to search for the most popular forums in your niche. Do a search on Google for "your niche + forum" and depending on the popularity of your forum you will find several very popular forums or message boards where people will go to discuss the problems that are facing them in that niche.

You want to begin posting and make sure that you do NOT begin selling or promoting right away. Actually, you really don’t want to sell or promote at all because what you are really trying to do is develop a strong reputation as someone who as answers to problems and can help by providing solid information. Most forums will allow you to advertise in the signature section of the forum post so you can do your selling there.

When you post give people solid and useful information. Don’t just throw up crap to get your forum post count up. People can see through this and it won’t work. When someone asks a question on the forum research the answer and provide solid feedback. This is the best way to gain a good reputation and a solid following.

You can also use the forums as link juice. When you include a link in the signature of your posts then you get credit for having a link back to your site.
