Formula 1: Red Bull Make It 1-2 At Malaysia

Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber made sure Red Bull took the top two podium spots at the Malaysian Grand Prix, and kept Red Bull well in the hunt for this year's Formula 1 season title.
Saturday's Formula 1 qualifying was dramatic to say the least, as a result of a heavy shower. This saw the strong Ferrari and McLaren cars being pushed down to the rear end of the starting grid for the race. It was then left for them to push hard and weave their way through the field to get into the points. Lewis Hamilton was the pick of the lot finishing a credible 6th after starting way down at 20th place.

But in the end it was a superb overall performance by the Red Bull drivers Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber, who made it a 1-2 for their team. This has made sure that Ferrari and McLaren will not run away with things and leave others playing catch-up. Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg had to be content with 3rd spot, after starting the race on pole position. Multiple world champion Michael Schumacher retired early due to a wheel issue, while double world champion Fernando Alonso went out of the race in the penultimate lap. Current world champion Jenson Button finished 8th.

One thing is sure, this year's Formula One season is going to be a cracker. A simple statistic to prove it is that just 9 points separate the top 7 drivers, and amazingly all 3 races have been won by different drivers. Lastly, all 4 teams, at Formula 1 this year, seem to have a chance for a shot at the constructor's trophy.

See you in China in 2 weeks time.
