Formula 1: Alonso Wins Italian Grand Prix

Fernando Alonso won an exciting Italian Grand Prix at Monza to keep his hopes of a world championship title alive in the ongoing Formula 1 season.
The 2010 Formula 1 season is just getting hotter as we near the end. With just 5 races left this year, there are still 5 drivers in actual contention for the world championship title. Only 24 point separate the top 5, which is even less than the points awarded for a single race win. Alonso won on Ferrari's home turf to boost his chances of the title this year. And with Massa coming in 3rd for Ferrari, the team's chances of the constructor's title too remains alive.

Alonso started on P1, but McLaren's Jenson Button stormed into the lead at the very start. Alonso and Massa trailed him for the first half of the race, always making sure he never got a big lead over them. And then Ferrari used the pit stop strategy to perfection. When both Alonso and Button pitted, Alonso managed to come out in front and drive flawlessly till the end to win the race. Button had to be satisfied with 2nd place, while Massa came in third to collect 15 valuable championship points for his team.
