"Forgotten My Homework at Home " is No More an Excuse...

From online courses to children friendly laptops and animated character of teachers, technology is spreading like an unbridled fire in United States classroom's, thereby reducing the need of text books, note-pads, in some cases even nullifying the need of schools also.

Just ask ten years old "Andrews" from San Francisco City.

He is one the 500 students who receive HP lap-tops each day at a state-aided school in the outer skirts of San Francisco City . Sitting in the second row of his classroom, he opens the assignment of math's on the glistening screen of his lap top through a DVD, which contains the software powered with the animated interface of all the curriculum's that Andrews correlates to a video game.

"Its fun . And when you are having fun , it make learning even more easier. It feels like I am playing my favorite game," said Andrews.

This state funded school in San Francisco , epics the emerging role of technology in the education.

With no textbooks. All the students receive their assignments through the emails in the laptops. Teachers and students discuss all the questions related to particular topic on a public blog. Staff update the parents regarding the progress of their children through instant messaging softwares. And all the assignments are collected through an electronic "drop box's" pecked on the official websites of the school.

"I have forgotten my home work at home" - is a no excuse here.

"In contrary to the traditional schools , students at this state run school engage in wider levels of activities in the same classroom. The computers maintain a track record of their aptitude levels, thereby allowing the teacher's to tailor their teaching to the students weakest area," said Ms. Socia, a teacher at this school.
