Forgiving the Forgotten - 58 - The Total Agony of Love
CHAPTER 58: THE TOTAL AGONY OF LOVE:
AMENATSU'S POV:
I watched as my mother observed Taeen curiously making sies for the three of us. Her face still held worry. She was worried about her husband and her son.
Father and Tatsu were still arguing over Zubia.
"Tatsu, will probably end up going to Zubia's house and asking for her hand in marriage. That will be quite a well deserved shock for him.... to see that his son broke free of his control and finally did something on his own.... He will inform me when he decides to go, so at least I can accompany him to Zubia's place."
I immediately spoke up, "So will we... if he wishes, we'll also come along."
MEANWHILE IN THE ROYAL PALACE:
"Father! I wish to take this decision. As king of Tatsu and as a Yuver. I have the right to choose my mate."
The father king was both sad and happy. Tatsu was at it from the moment he saw his father that morning. His son was finally taking decisions. But it was difficult to let a man like him, naive and young take such decisions....
"Why won't you allow it father? What is lacking? I'll teach her the royal ways.... let me go father.... Let me free."
Tears of indignation trickled down his young face.
The father king sat back on the chair and said softly, "I think she'll make a fine queen...."
Tatsu stared at his father with a gaping mouth and teary eyes, so much for rebellion.... for love.
NORTHERN PROVINCE...
Zubia's room was a mess. She hadn't had anything to eat since the past two days, since she had seen the lukewarm response of the king of the planet. Why had she even dreamed of being in Tatsu's arms? He had tried his best to convince the king.... but she was a simply a noble. Not some princess.
The tears wouldn't stop. Her parents had been kind enough to stop showing her the files of the handsome men who awaited her answer for the marriage proposals.
Her parents had been very supportive of her but rather hopeless about the king being able to convince his father.
Zubia rolled over, her hair was a mess. Maybe it was time to tend to her research papers on botanical mysteries of the Islands.
Yes... she still had something to live on. She was one of the best botanists on the islands and there was someone who was made for her. Even though it was a pain to think she could ever smile thinking about anyone other than Tatsu.
She cried through the shower and sighing came out with a floral print figure hugging dress. With her file in hand and her bag of instruments she headed downstairs. Time to go back to the research facility in the Eastern district, there were plants waiting for her.
"Mother, I'm leaving for Eastern district and I'll return late today evening... I'll eat on the way... Pa... have you seen my summer hat?"
A slender hand held her huge brimmed hat on long fingers.
"Going somewhere?"
She stared down. It would hurt for that voice to not be Tatsu's.
"Ye... yes.... work...."
She could feel the tears rolling down her cheeks. Tatsu.... why?
"Zubia... shall we go to the main hall, there is someone who would like to talk to you."
When she looked up, the longest black hair, lightly pulled back in by the golden crown whipped in front.
The father king sat in the main hall, a small smile on his face.
"Hello dear... I'm sorry for the last time; I had lost my... reason. My son showed it to me again."
Zubia looked into her beloved's eyes after 49 hours and 30 minutes.
He stood there grinning madly, happy as a kid.
Zubia noticed the royal couple of Jerome and the mother queen. Tatsu placed her hat lightly on her head and offered his hand, "Shall I drop you to the Eastern office of the botanical office? I think the people of this island need to know their new queen. Shall we?"
Zubia accepted his hand blushing and giggling. Amenatsu looked at Tatsu and winked. Taeen nodded at Zubia.
Her parents still shocked from receiving the king and the entire royal family of Tatsu planet along with the Jerome royals nodded their daughter off as she left with Tatsu.
I pulled on a white cotton top with the neck plunging to the navel. It was a loose nightwear. I planned on taking Taeen for a moon lit walk.
"I told you, didn't I?" Taeen's voice rang in my ear. She was yelling from the shower happily. I nodded and looked at my coat. The symbol of Jerome was engraved beautifully on the back. I was missing home. Ru had called to say that things were going on nicely. That the secret battalion of experts I had asked for was being recruited. There would be no spies. Each and every one of the recruits was willing to lay down their lives for the king or the Queen or Ru or Mia, who had saved them at one point or another. This time, Weiss would be pulled out and caught. And we would not allow Weiss to destroy paradise.
"What are you staring at your coat for angel?"
Taeen's voice came from behind me as she put her arms around me, still standing behind the sofa. Taeen's wet hair hung around me like a curtain of sensual rings.
I had combed through my wet hair and was sitting on a side sofa thinking about Jerome when this angel whom I adored intruded with her perfect lips and grace to distract me.
"Trying to seduce me, are you?"
Her sensual sea eyes rounded in on mine.
"Am I, now then?"
Her slim fingers were on their way to pull the strings of the over coat of the white cotton top. She stared approvingly at the shirt. I sighed. Maybe I would have to discard the moon lit night plans.
Hmmm....
"I see you're gulping your desires down...." her hand caressed my neck. I caught her hand and pulled her in front making her sit in my lap.
"What shall I do Taeen? You're making me go crazy...."
"I think that was the purpose."
She settled in my lap and ran her finger along a scar that ran along my abdomen.
"This is from the time I lost control over my powers... you were shielding me right? With your body? I call that night the crimson night. You know why?"
It was good to let her ramble along like that. She could talk for hours this way. I settled back on the sofa and placed my bare feet on the table in front. I was in for a long night of recalling memories with memories. Taeen was always full of surprises.
She ran her fingers over my abdomen counting scars.
"From when is this?"
I looked at the one that seemed the most recent.
"It is from the time when we were saved by Dawn."
"He'll have some childhood huh? I want to see him Amon...."
She let her head fall over my chest, her mind listening silently to the beats in my heart. I kissed the top of her head and whispered, "You don't want to change the course of things Taeen, Jerome will be in trouble."
"Is Jerome all you think about?"
"Not always, mostly it is you in my mind, making me wild," I answered truthfully.
I loosened her wet hair and held her closer.
"I used to dream about a day when through all those tortuous sessions with the warden some prince would come and ask for me... and I would disappear from the class. He would take me away from all my miseries. Not that I had many, but I was a young girl. How very lucky of me to marry the man who rescued me from Earth. I'm rambling, aren't I?"
I looked at her peering from under the fringes of brown wavy hair into my eyes.
"Taeen... may I tell you something?"
She raised her eyebrow in question.
"You have the most beautiful eyes I have ever... ever seen."
She rolled her 'beautiful' eyes at me and said lovingly, her voice was like chimes to me, "You're my prince... my world!"
"Would you like to go for a walk in the gardens?"
"I want to stay with you...."
"I'm not sending you walking alone."
She made a face and mumbled, "Tomorrow... let's go to sleep... I'm tired Amon."
When she said Amon instead of Amenatsu she meant business. So... my princess was tired.
I carried her sleeping form and walked towards the window. A blink of an eye and the glass panes bowed to my command.
"Amenatsu?" Taeen's body, bundled warmly in a blanket, stirred in my lap.
"Hmm?"
"Where are we?"
"In the skies of Tatsu island...."
"So..." she yawned lightly, "You just had to see the moon huh?"
"Wouldn't you?"
Her amazed eyes and hanging jaw were all I needed to see to know that I had done the right thing by bringing her so high in the air.
I was floating cross-legged with her in my lap at a level where we could see the night sun of the islands glowing softly.
She looked up at me and asked, "How long was I asleep?"
"An hour maybe..."
"So... the night still remains.... can I kiss you?"
I felt the muscles of my back stretch as I bent low to receive her kiss. Her eyes, even more beautiful after sleeping looked satisfied at me. Maybe this trip wouldn't be so bad after all.
