Forgiving the Forgotten - 54 - Glacier of Shadows
CHAPTER 54: THE GLACIER OF SHADOWS:
TAEEN'S POV:
I stared in horror at Amenatsu was seized by tremors so bad I felt I would lose him again. He choked and gasped, unable to breathe again.... I felt helpless.
"Shane! Gird! Keep the doors closed!" I didn't want Amon to be seen by the public this way.
His mother was next to him, very calm and composed. She kissed her fingertips and placed them on Amenatsu's forehead. His body relaxed after a while, but he still looked pale.
She had the power to relieve pain into the surroundings. I felt rather envious.
Tatsu, his brother looked horrified. His father comforted him and made him sit on a chair.
"That is some power he has... I think it will be best if you take him to the glacier today. His body will not take it for long." His father said with awe as he tried to calm his other son down. The black dragon's powers were too strong for the white dragon.
His mother whispered, "His body will slip into a coma... he will not die... he cannot die because of a lack of powers.... You are immortals.... aren't you?"
She stared at me, and I nodded.
"My age stopped at 22 and his stopped at 24. Sometime back...."
She smiled and lovingly stroked her son's face. I decided it was best if we left for our room.
"Your highness, please may I leave for our room? I'll take care of him. I will get him back and we'll probably meet you tomorrow...." I controlled my tears. It was so difficult. Amenatsu. I love you. I just wanted to hug him and disappear to that glacier. I had to revive him.
She replied her palm on my hand, "Don't return here... it hurts him so much that he needs to suppress himself...."
"No! You don't hurt him at all...."
"It's those two naive people who don't realize that they left a family member out and that it is costing him his life...." I bit back my tongue... I didn't want to hurt this gentle lady. She did not deserve it.
"Don't come to this palace. I wish to come over tonight. May I? Just me?"
I nodded and said, "Our bodyguards will leave the gifts we brought over in the room outside. I will teleport with him...."
I closed my eyes and felt the golden phoenix take wings. In a whiff of cool ethereal space we reached our suite. I laid Amenatsu on the bed and probed his mind to find the glacier of shadows. I would take him there.
I could feel that my energy was fading, but he was all I had to go on. Holding on to the fragments that held the location of the glacier of shadows I teleported us there.
The wind was hard and it was snowing mildly. The place I had landed on was extremely cold. I began shivering almost immediately.
I had to get Amenatsu be awake to communicate with the black dragon and regain his life.
The path to Amenatsu's heart was beautiful.... I saw myself running on water... little islands of ice floated over the water. Once I reached where Amenatsu was, I realized it was the same place where he was.
He looked like a much younger version of himself.... almost 18 or something, his hair was shorter. I squatted by his side. He looked so tired... I ran a finger along his jaw; he stirred and moaned in his sleep.
"Father... don't... I don't want... to leave...."
"... let me stay... please...."
"Please! I don't want to go...."
He was sobbing now, the poor kid. He almost looked like Dawn.
I held his hands. So rough and... Why were they full of cuts and scars? It was then that I noticed the cuts all over his body. Tears welled in my eyes.
"Amenatsu.... Will you come with me?"
His eyes opened. Innocent violet eyes, eyes that still believed that the world was a nice place. His eyes didn't recognize me. It hurt terribly but that was probably because he hadn't met me at that age.
"Who are you?"
"Someone who will never let you go...."
I stood up and offered him my hand. He stood up on his own. Such an injured boy and trying to stand up for himself. I helped him stand. He was taller than me. The difference was that his hands were lanky and the Amon I knew was all muscles no fat.
"How did you reach here?"
"You'll know darling.... let's get you back to consciousness...."
His handsome face looked on ahead as we walked over the water and towards the cave that provided me entry. The moment I emerged, the cold hit me full force and I was on my knees shivering madly.
Whoa! It was so cold. My intestines were freezing and I knew it.
Amenatsu's eyes tried to focus on the surroundings.
My teeth were chattering. I wondered if I would die off the cold.
"Why are you shivering Taeen?"
I glared at him, he seemed so healthy and normal.
"You idiot... I'm... I..." my teeth were chattering so badly. I found it hard to speak. It gave me a headache.
My whole body was paining. Ugh... my head was splitting into pieces.
I sank further into the snow. The snow was settling over my head. My head.... my head was aching.... as if someone was drilling holes in my skull. Every timbre in my body was on fire, the pain was killing me.
I couldn't focus on Amon. He seemed healthy. The younger version was conversing with him lightly.
The younger version seemed much stronger.
"I'm sorry Amon... she is my wife, I was no longer capable of summoning you on my own so she, to whom my soul is bound summoned you.... that is why you had to leave your abode... forgive me... but would it be alright if I attended to my wife. I believe she is in pain...."
The younger version smiled nonchalantly, "Ah yes.... the atmosphere here is not suitable for anyone but you and me. Take her back... you got what you wanted...."
I saw Amenatsu smile at his younger self.
The boy said as he turned to walk back, "I hope I don't see you again...."
"I hope so too. Take care of the souls here. I will visit, hopefully a simple visit with no reception of anymore life source...."
He smirked and walked away. I saw him diminish into the blizzard. Oh... it had become a blizzard....
I couldn't feel Amenatsu's arms around me.
I felt the wind blowing across my face, as my husband carried me back to the cave through which we could exit.
"Did... you regain... yo- your p-powers?"
"Sshh... don't speak... I'm fine. The temperature here does not affect me. You can relax now, I will take care of you now.... I will call Shane and Gird with our craft to pick us up... you teleported us across the planet, you know? Do you know how much power it takes?"
I wondered if I would feel warm ever again.
"Just relax my darling... sleep now... you've done so much for me my beloved...."
I felt his breath on my face. His hair blew over my face. The wind carried his voice away from me. I couldn't hear him anymore. His calming eyes asked me to relax... his arms telling me that everything was alright. We were doing fine.
TAEEN'S POV:
