CHAPTER 48: THE PRINCE OF JEROME 3
TAEEN'S POV:
We all heard in apt attention to Dawn's words. Each word priceless in the understanding of the danger that surrounded us.
Dawn sipped sies from his cup and placed it noiselessly on the table. I nodded for him to go on.
"Through the conversation, Hirth added fuel to the fire, to make Weiss confess, by talking about how the new king was selfish enough to marry the princess. And gain the crown of Jerome."
I piped up not thinking that there were so many others around, "Amenatsu is king! If I wasn't his wife, I wouldn't be queen either!"
Dawn smiled and said sweetly, "I knew that, so did Hirth, he was adding fuel to the fire. As in trying to get Weiss to open up about anything he knew about the prince of Jerome."
I nodded, embarrassed but knowing that I stood up for myself and my husband. Though I probably didn't need to. Dawn looked at me and proceeded.
"Weiss yelled loudly enough for many to hear that he set the little prince's room on fire many years ago, and escaped with the prince to Wuldock where he sold the baby for a handsome amount. After that there was a fight between a man called Hirth and William. The retired soldier won and took the baby with him. After that Weiss had never seen the baby or heard of him again.
Hirth's search had come to an end. He told me about what he had learned. I decided that I had to go to Jerome, earn the king's trust and inform him of the impending danger. Also, if what Hirth said was true, then I would be protecting my parents. Meanwhile, I found out that I could ask for the dragon to call its father. So if the king of Jerome was my father, he would come to send me back through time, to a year before I was born. Sixteen years back from my present.
In my present, back at Aria, I am now almost a year old. My job was to inform Jerome that Weiss was going to harm you all.
I have done that. I have collected enough evidence from Weiss's office to state that all I said is true. The rest, father, is up to you."
Amon looked up and inhaled deeply.
"Dawn, if you return now, when will we see you again?"
"Fourteen years from now, I'll be fifteen, and you'll come to send me back through time to crash into Jerome. When I return from here, I'll reach the future, fifteen minutes from the moment you sent me here. You have paused time in the future till I return. It has been only five or ten minutes there, it's a year here.
From there, you and I will come back to Jerome. If Jerome has ceased to exist, we'll both die. If it is there, we'll survive."
Ru cleared his throat and said with enthusiasm, "I think, you and the king are going to return just fine."
"There will be a war here, to save Jerome. If you succeed, the whole air around here will calm down and Jerome will return to normal. Then, fourteen years from now, father will leave Jerome, your dragon will take you there. Within a month since father will leave, both he and I will return to Jerome once and for all."
I nodded happily. Accepting that I would get my son back.
Dawn said as everyone quietened down once again, "The details of what Hirth found out after tracking Weiss is as follows...."
We all heard in wonder as Dawn recited the hidden black history of Jerome.
"Somewhere in the months that followed the leave of the king of Jerome, a small group was formed. A group that wanted the king of Jerome to be someone from Jerome. They were fools led by a treacherous traitor who had his own agenda, nothing near the people's.
The new king, who had taken a leave of absence to search for the princess of Jerome, Ta, was a person born into the royalty of the Tatsu planet.
All the more reason for the people to believe that he had come to Jerome to capture the planet for the Islands.
Not everyone believed so, only the anti- Jeromians. Their leader was someone who had always been well trusted by the king and all the royalty as well as the people.
He was at a strategic position. The assistant of the chief commander Nanette. Even Nanette didn't suspect her subordinate of leading the anti - Jerome move, in spite of knowing his history. The history concerning the fact that Weiss was replaced by Ru.
Weiss was the second in command of the Jeromian army under the previous king, Prince Washita's father.
After the king's health started deteriorating, Prince Washita handled affairs for almost a year. And through that time, Washita discovered that Weiss was exploiting his position as the second in command by employing illegal means of weaponry when Jerome was considered a peace planet.
Weiss had his hands deep into the pockets of many of those from the highest positions. The Primes of the western and economically powerful provinces of Dior and Vestavia.
Once Weiss was displaced as the second in command by Ru, the Primes of Dior and Vestavia mismanaged everything and made the two provinces the poorest. Though the Primes became richer than ever before, the miners and the farmers all became bankrupt. Their land was taken from them and the underground used for experiments....
His step mother convinced the dying king to banish the spoiled prince to Emperia.
The prince was not spoiled, just losing in the battle of health (who wouldn't if their step mum was slowly poisoning him to death?). The step mother took his weakening health as a weak point in him being king and had him sent to Emperia.
Washita was banished before he could correct the state of those two provinces. The two provinces rotted and little wars broke among the miners and the farmers over land over food over life.
Weiss lost his position because of Washita. Lost all his source of money for the illegal weapons because of the man that made Amon the king. And then there was Ru. Who had known everything and yet done nothing to get back the position Weiss had.
Maybe Ru knew all that Washita had known. So both Ru and Amon had to be removed for Weiss to become successful.
Weiss's mother had done enough by eliminating Washita as his step mother. Unfortunately, Washita had killed himself in an attempt to kill his step mother and clear the dirt from Jerome. Had he known Weiss was a spawn of the same blood he would've told Ru to keep an eye on Weiss.
Luckily no soul on Jerome knew that Weiss was the son of the second queen. His intention of becoming buying planets surpassed his conscience as a Jeromian.
Moreover, the weapon he was building would need the powers of Jeromians. To store that power and utilize it in dosages that could end a planet in one pulse wave, such was the magnitude of the weapon Weiss was producing. And he was going to buy Aria from its owning planet Rows.
Eliminating Amon and Ru would go a long way in making Weiss the hive of richness... and also the owner of Aria- the heaviest mine in the universe for gems."
