Forgiving the Forgotten - 39

CHAPTER 39: LOVER OF THE DRAGON 2

TAEEN’S POV:

He stopped where he was, and sat on the floor. His violet black eyes demanded something from me. Commanded me to let him take me completely.
"Amon… please leave…. Amon why did you kill him?" my voice trembled as I imagined how he must have killed him. Why?
My vision was fading slowly, because of him, because my body had a will of its own as I tried to reach his outstretched hand.
At the first contact of our fingers, his power flowed through me. He stood up, and I with him. Connected by the unseen connection between our hands he led me. The door was locked.

I stood less than an inch from him and his body blocked my escape from the room.
"A… Amon… what are you intending?"
His lips parted and it felt so nostalgic, as if I had seen it before, and he whispered into my ear, "He… the man in your dreams my darling, is not dead. He is alive there somewhere. And he wants you to bring him back to life."
I stood frozen in my place. His strong frame enveloped me and I felt each vessel in him pulsate for the longing that was so similar to the man from my dreams.

I felt myself let go of all senses and sink into blackness. My powers were rattling me inside and counteracting to it, my mind had decided to shut down for a few minutes.
His eyes black as the night and demanding as ever were the first things I saw when I opened my eyes; and I felt his lips kissing mine. The softness of his hands holding me to him and the way he let go of the kiss to keep me caged in his embrace.
I felt the mercilessness he had for himself, the neglect he let himself be in from himself. The cold empty eyes, hurting for not being able to help himself.
Tendrils from his mind seeped into my head and cleared the fog that had troubled me for so long.

The same man whose name I was dying to know looked at me with his violet eyes and asked gently, "Taeen, if you cease to live, I will too that is because I’m nothing without you. I tied my soul with yours when I couldn’t get you back to Jerome on time due to your coma… till you recognized me, my soul would be incomplete and lost. So I chose to complete myself by telling you."
The words were confusing.
In whose arms was I exactly? Amon?
"Shall I give you your memories?"
I heard myself say yes in a barely audible voice.

"Then my dearest, you’ll have my heart. Because it has you, you and you alone."
There was a flood of emotions and memories as if all settled in my mind. Amon or whoever it was rocked me slowly as I tried to digest what all had happened before and through the time I didn’t remember.
Amon risked his life to get me back to Jerome.
I heard so many things in those dreams. I felt so close to him. I felt a strange emotion for him that brought tears to my eyes. For someone to go so far for someone like me….
I broke free of his embrace and looked at him. The long black hair, violet eyes tinged with black and eyes that held the world for me. I was seeing the two men I had fallen in love with together.
They were the same.

I pulled him closer and allowed his hands to entwine themselves with my hair as I hugged him close and heard his heartbeats. The same as mine. Beating together with mine. Because his life was tied to mine. But mine was not tied to his.
I whispered to him burying my face in his chest, "Amenatsu… you found me…."
"No Taeen… you found me."
His utterly male scent filled my senses, the wind caught my hair and made a curtain around us.
Still sinking in the paradise that was his body I asked in a muffled voice, "Why did you go so far to save me? What am I to you Amenatsu?"
He stroked my back and with his other hand held my head, "I saved you because I had promised your brother that I would get you back. And I went too far because I was and still am in love with you."
"So who am I to you?"

"Considering that my soul is tied to yours, technically talking, you’re my fiance and I am your fiancee."
My heart gushed with happiness. And I blushed brightly.
"Why didn’t you take my consent?"
"I thought it was better to beg you to be my wife after making you my fiance than to see you dead."
We stayed in that position for a long time. The second sun had set. The staff outside had started preparing for the dinner.
I wanted to accept this reality. The beauty of the situation.
My first love, my one true love, I would spend the rest of my eternity with him.
"Amon or Amenatsu… what shall I call you?"

He looked into my eyes and spoke with the gentleness of a cool breeze, "Amenatsu is my birth name, that’s what you used to call me. Amon is the name of my powers, the people here call me Amon."
He didn’t touch me anyway I didn’t want him to. It was a little sensation that told me I wanted him so much. I wanted to be with this man in front of me forever.
"I think I’ve been in love with Amenatsu… and with Amon…."
"They’re both yours to possess. You were said to be the lover of the dragon, that is some name back at my place that is why your fate is unpredictable because it’s tied somehow to mine…."
I played with the hair flowing over his chest and said, "So… I’m the lover of the dragon, eh?"
He nodded and said, "If that is your wish."
"I think it is."
***
Nanette’s presence made me conscious of my constant blushing under Amon’s gaze.
She spoke directly to both of us as we abandoned dinner to listen to her.
"The unidentified man, claiming his name is Dawn, has regained consciousness your highnesses. Hayame is his assigned doctor."
"Very good Nannette. I applaud your and the paramedics’ efficiency. I’ll check the case after dinner. Thank you."
Dawn had risen.
