Forgiveness and Proverbs About It

Forgiveness comes easy to the wise people, the more a man knows, the more forgiving he should become. See some famous quotes and proverbs about forgiveness.
An attribute of the strong, as Mahatma Gandhi described forgiveness, it is an act that has so much freedom in it that if we only knew, we’d always forgive. However, it is not easy; it is indeed a task for a strong person.

Peter asked Jesus: "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Until seven times?" Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times." Matthew 18:21-22

Obviously we are asked to forgive as much as 490 times the same person, signifying that time and time again, if they are sorry, we ought to forgive. In situations when the ones that should ask forgiveness from you come and admit that they have been wrong, forgiveness comes much easier when compared to those circumstances when they don’t even bother saying anything.

What if they are not sorry or not even care?

What can you do in those situations? I can tell you for a fact that praying for that person really works. First tell God how that person made you feel or harmed you, ask power to forgive and let God judge that individual. We can’t make a fair judgment because we don’t see everything – we as humans, have a limited perspective, and oftentimes wrong information too – but on the other hand, God can have an accurate picture of the whole situation; therefore He alone knows all the influences, all the data about the issue in question and letting Him judge will take a huge burden off your shoulders. Ask God to heal your heart too, you need it in order to have the right attitude when you meet that person again.

I’ll let you read on about forgiveness as important people saw it:
