Forbidden Part 5

Getting to know the real Adrian.
~It has been a very long time, had a dry spell but a tad bit then when I could write I couldn't get things to make much sense. I hope I put it together enough thanks for your patience I'll try to make it a bit longer next time. ~

The door was still open she took her place in the doorway she cleared her throat loudly he looked up expectantly.
"You’re back is there something you forgot to tell me?" all she could do was nod. She wanted to tuck her tail and run. Adrian stared at her he could see the tension in her shoulders,
"Yes I did have something else to say," she paused gathering her thoughts. "I just want you know that I am not crazy my story sounds a little off the wall I’m having a hard time keeping to it," he just blinked at her,

"There are things about this world that you won’t believe or begin to understand,"
"Like what?"
"How do you know that I’m like you by how I look?"
"What do you mean by you being like me?"
"Human," she stared at him.
"You can’t tell by my looks alone can you?" he smiled flashing those shiny white teeth.
"What are you then?"
"I don’t want to scare you,"
"I think after the other night I can handle anything,"

"Are you sure about that?" she nodded. Adrian moved he was suddenly standing in front of her she stared up at him in surprise she took a step back blinking at him. Karen shook her head at him no one sat at his desk she looked him in the eye,
"How can you move that fast?" He smiled.
"Like I said if I told you I’d scare you and scaring you won’t be right." She stared at him. She backed up a few steps then turned her back on him she could feel his eyes burning holes in her back. Way to go there Karen let your hero tell you he’s not human he may not be the borrowing skin type but he is another flavor. She went to the kitchen and Lula was cooking,
"Hello Ms. Karen I see you finally found your way here I thought I was going to have to send a search party to get you here,"
"Hi Lula I’m here for lunch," she turned to her and a look of concern crossed her face.
"Is everything ok dear?" she nodded lost in her own thoughts. She sat at the counter until her plate was sat in front of her she lifted her head and gave her a smile trying to pull the thoughts from her face.
"Thank you Lula," she sat there and ate lunch thinking about what took place while she was in his office. A shiver ran down her spine just thinking about it when she was done she walked out of the kitchen waving to Lula as she left. She was suddenly yearning a nap she walked to his bedroom the double glass doors of the library caught her eye she didn’t get a chance to see inside. She walked to the door and put her hand on the door knob she turned it and walked inside closing the door behind her.

The library was bright there were book shelves everywhere covering every wall, there was a table in the center of the room and soft cushy chairs at every corner of the room. She walked to the book shelves that were on the furthest wall she trailed her fingers along the spine they were surprisingly free of dust. She saw a small, red hard covered book she stood on her tiptoes and pried the book from between two larger ones. She finally got it down she stared at the cover there was no title she looked at the spine still no title. She sat down at the table and peeled it open there was a faint smell of roses to the pages she turned the first few pages they were blank she flipped one more page if there was nothing on this page she would put it back. There was a name on this page in an artistic handwriting it was Adrian’s name.
"Adrian Solomon Paltrow," she said his name to herself. Adrian opened his eyes when he heard his name he looked up from Bianca’s neck her blood on his lips he licked his lips then bit his finger sliding it into her mouth she licked the blood from it he watched as the holes vanished. He pulled away from her he was sated and she was satisfied he got dressed and left as quietly as he came. As he made his way home he wondered how she found out his full name he listened to her thoughts and saw that she was reading his diary he chuckled. He’d let her read it hopefully she’d believe that her human world wasn’t all there was and wondered if she could figure out just what flavor he was.
