Forbidden Part 4
The dream!!!!
Karen turned onto her side and closed her eyes and let sleep claim her all around her were lights and bodies swaying to the music. She was dancing with Buddy she turned to him,
"I have to use the bathroom," she said in his ear over the music he nodded and took her hand and they went to the bathroom Buddy tugged her hand he thought he saw something. They stopped in front of a door that was ajar they took a quick peek four men were beating the snot out of another all that was visible between the limbs was bright red hair and dark clothes. One of the men pulled the man from the floor and produced a knife he stabbed him in the gut over and over again blood dripped to the floor the man was clearly in pain but no sound came from him. Come to think of it there was no sound at all suddenly the clothes and the skin were ripped from the man it was like pulling off a mask but the mask covered the entire body. Karen couldn't believe her eyes the thing underneath was purple with claws and scales,
"Oh my god do you see this?" whispered Buddy. One of the men standing around turned to the door the eyes were black and pit less in the skull but the rest of the face was still human a growl erupted from the throat no way these men were human in any way. Buddy pulled away from the door Karen took him by the hand and they took off running forgetting the bathroom. They pushed through the crowd as they joined the onslaught of the party sweaty bodies swaying to the music they had to push their way through her sweaty hand slipped from Buddy's.
"Go home right now" he shouted at her. They split up and she was alone running by herself she got to the door and she was running in the rain. Trying to make her way home was her only goal she reached her shortcut blade's alley. She fell and then just like that she was trapped then there was hands on her face looking into the darkest eyes then nothing. Karen sat up soaked in a cold sweat she pulled at the shirt it was sticking to her body for a full minute she forgot where she was she took the shirt off and wiped her face and neck. When she felt his eyes on her she turned to him he was sitting up next to her,
"Are you ok Karen?" she nodded. She pressed the tail of the shirt to her chest and nodded yes she got out of the bed and walked to the bathroom. When she shut the door he left the bed making it up and leaving if he stayed she would find out that he wasn’t as human as she thought he was. Karen turned the faucet on and let it run until it was warm she splashed water on to her face and neck. She dried her face and neck and put the shirt back on cutting off the water she opened the door expecting him to still be lying in bed so edible but the bed was empty and it was made up. She walked to the bed and slid into his house shoes and walked out shutting the door behind her.
She had yet to have the pleasure of touring his home she followed the hallway until it turned there was a suit of armor that she failed to notice. It was so shiny she lifted the visor expecting to see a body inside it was empty she kept walking she found room after room it was big. Ten bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a full kitchen where she met even more house keepers Abee got away from her duties to give her the rest of the tour. Today she had her hair pulled up into a ponytail she wore a pair of dark pants and a white shirt the stark whiteness of the short paled her complexion a bit she still looked very pretty. There was a pool and a nice patio as they walked the grounds she pointed out the flowers and the stables there were only two horses a stallion and a Mustang.
At the moment they were out and grazing she called the stallion and Karen was elated with joy to just be in the presence of such a wonderful creature. Its skin was warm from the sun and its mane windswept just a sight to see as it ran off after just a few strokes of his muzzle. Abee and she talked the day away until it was time for lunch she was so fascinated with Adrian's house that food was the last thing on her mind. Adrian was sitting in the living room reading the newspaper he was fully dressed,
"My house shoes really Karen," she looked down at them they were speckled with dirt from being outside. When he turned to look at her she bit her lip he folded his newspaper there was a smile on the edge of his mouth. She sat down and was brought breakfast she ate staring at him he had went back to his newspaper. She preoccupied herself after breakfast so she wouldn’t bother Adrian he seemed very absorbed by his paper she took a walk in the field seeing if she could catch a glimpse of the mares playing. When it got hot she came back inside and found him in his office he looked up from his desk as she stood in the doorway,
"How can I help you Karen?" she looked around there were book shelves that covered one wall, behind him was a large window with stark white blinds there was a comfortable cushioned chair facing the desk. The carpet in this particular room was so blue,
"I remember where I first laid eyes on you; you were in that alley with me when they came after me," he nodded. "How did you know where I would be?"
"I already told how I came across you I wasn't there to kill you like they were I couldn't let them hurt you, you were just at the wrong place at the wrong time,"
"You couldn't let them hurt me?" she said to him her voice quivering as she continued. "You're one of them aren't you?"
"One of what?" he frowned and it looked unfinished.
"One of those things that walk around wearing people’s skin like clothes I saw them the purple creatures we were just going to the bathroom when my friend thought he saw something there four or five guys were standing in the room three were beating the crap out of the fourth he was on the floor being beaten. I couldn’t believe my eyes my friend spoke and one of them turned to us his eyes were black and he had a mouth full of razor sharp teeth,"
she looked up at him and his expression was blank it was like he was there but not there.
"No I’m not one of them", he touched his cheek then pinched it. "The skin’s mine and it doesn’t come off so easily," He was quiet, she stood there suddenly feeling very stupid. I bet he thinks I’m half crazy out of my mind, let me make my escape while I can She nodded to him and plastered on a smile.
"I guess I’ll see you later then," he had a pleasant look on his face he nodded and watched as she bowed out of the room. She didn’t get down the hallway good enough before she thought of something; however, she needed to clear the air first before she went back in there.
"I know what I saw I am not crazy I am not crazy," she kept thinking to herself as she walked back to Adrian’s office.
