For Sale - Chapter 6
Eli: Found,Emily: Confused, Eli's dad: Gone.
I let my tears flow freely, and slowly, and finally Elise approached the car. I put my foot on the gas pedel, and slowly pulled out of the parking spot. Eli came sprinting out of the apartment then, the redhead not far behind. She held his arm protectively and tried to convince him to go back inside. Eli looked at me, his eyes pleading. Elise opened her door suddenly, and walked over to them.
I walked over to them slowly, "Eli..."
"Oliver, who is this girl?" the redhead asked slowly.
"Oliver?" I asked, confused. "I'm sorry... You look just like my friend."
"No, I am Eli."he said, looking at me. "Emily, my dad's been lying to you and your dad."
Shock covered her perfect facial features, and tears filled her eyes. "I ran away from home to be with you, and I don't even know your damn name!!"she yelled.
"It's Eli, stupid. He just said that."Elise said flatly.
"Umm... by the way, I have yet to learn your name."I said.
"It's Emily. How do you know him? Why did you come now? Were you guys planning this?" Emily replied in disbelief. "What the hell's your guys' names?"
"I'm Elise, and this is Aline."Elise replied, gesturing at me. "She's known Eli since she moved from France. They were, like, best friends, from what I've heard about him."
"We've got to go catch my dad before he leaves with all the cash, or I'm broke." Eli said finally.

A cherry red motorcycle roared out of the parking lot just as we finished searching the apartment. "He got all of it." Eli said defeatedly.
"How much did you guys have?"Elise asked.
"None of your business, bitch. Just leave me and Oliver alone, and we'll figure this out. We've been a well oiled machine for two years now, and we'll be fine without all your annoying inquiries. So just... go sit at the table in the kitchen."
Elise and I went and fiddled with the salt and pepper shakers as Emily and Eli searched under couch cushions and mattresses for any forgotten money. "No offense to your friend, but his taste in women SUCKS."Elise wrote on the napkin. After being chastised multiple times for talking, we'd resolved to just writing notes back and forth.
Not only were Eli and Emily looking for loose change now, but also the source of the steady high-pitched beeping. Elise was worried it was a bomb, but Eli had assured her that his dad was a con-man, not a bomber or terrorist.
Boy, was Eli wrong.
The blast came from my right side, and the heat and shrapnel shooting right into my arms and legs knocked the wind out of me. Elise screamed as everything went black. It happened gradually, as if some higher power wanted me to suffer through pain as long as I could. All I remember now, is that Eli came up and grabbed me, Elise trailing quickly behind. I never saw Emily leave the building.
