For My Sweet Child Gayatri

A mother's poem for her child…
What was my life without you,
An endless journey of solitude
The heaven above was merciful
To send you to end my life tearful.

My sweet little angel, when I beheld you first
Your moon-like face and eyes so bright,
Your body God chiseled so really right
I thought with joy my heart would burst

When you looked at me and with your eyes said,
"Don’t worry mother, I will soothe your heart that with grief had bled"
I hugged you gently scared I might hurt you
Your tiny finger curled as if saying, "I Love You"

To God am ever grateful
To have given me a child so beautiful
Everyday with you is colorful
Life has ever been more wonderful
