Footsteps in the Sand

Aren't we really alone?
They say that the
Single footsteps
Laying in the sand
Are proof
The Master
Carries one across
The great divides
And chiasmus of life.

I wonder then,
When I turn
And pause to look
With one quickened glance
Why the wind
Fills in the sand
And the water
Flows out to sea
Any remnants of me
For anyone to see.
