List of Foods That Burn Fat
Here are the foods which will become your trusted aids all through your lifetime, so that you can keep your weight under control. Protein rich diet helps in burning fat around the waist line. More energy is spent by the body when it has to digest proteins. Proteins are known to be foods that burn fat and build muscle.
Eggs: One of the richest source of proteins are eggs. Although there are people who say that eggs should not be consumed as it leads to high cholesterol, research now has shown that dietary cholesterol does not have an impact on the blood cholesterol levels. If you are still skeptical about consuming eggs, you can opt to just have the egg whites for breakfast with multi-grain bread. Eggs are also a rich source of vitamin B12, which helps in breaking down fat cells.
Oatmeal: From oatmeal you will derive the fiber required for your body. The soluble fiber present in oatmeal flushes out the digestive acids present in the body, thus helping in reducing the cholesterol levels in the blood. Oatmeal also guards against colon cancer and heart diseases.
Olive Oil: Olive contains 'good fats' required for the body. These unsaturated fats are said to have many health benefits like it lowers the total cholesterol levels in the body, etc. Olive oil actually burns fat and also keeps the cholesterol levels under check.
Carbohydrates: Carbohydrates give you the feeling of fullness, hence it is suggested that you include them in your diet. It is the processed carbohydrates, which are harmful to you. Processed carbohydrate food products include white bread, pastas, polished white rice, etc. You can add multi-grain bread and unpolished rice to your weight loss diet instead of their unhealthy cousins.
Vegetables: Here is the list of vegetables that burn fat. The vegetables are asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, blueberries, watermelon, soybeans and sweet potatoes.
Vitamin C Rich Fruits: Vitamin C rich fruits like limes, lemons, grapefruit, tangerines, etc are foods that burn fat. The fat present is diluted by the citric acid present in these fruits and renders the fat less effective. The fat is not stored in the body, but is thrown out of the body. Grapefruit contains pectin, which breaks down fat cells and it is rich in 'galacturonic' acid, which is also a fat fighter.
Salmon and Tuna: Both salmon and tuna contain omega 3 essential fatty acids. They boost the immune system. It is recommended to consume both salmon and tuna three times a week.
Low Fat Dairy Products: Research has shown that people who consumed low fat dairy products three or four times a day did not gain weight than non-consumers of dairy products. It is suggested to consume low fat milk, low fat yogurt, etc. The calcium present in dairy products helps in warding off weight gain.
Beans: Beans are a rich source of protein, fiber and iron. The beans which you can consume are navy beans, white beans, kidney beans and Lima beans. However, you should monitor the quantities of beans you consume. Remember to cook the beans well, to avoid getting gastrointestinal problems. Fried and baked beans however are not permissible. So, in case you were thinking of having baked beans on toast for breakfast tomorrow, leave the idea aside.
Red Chillies: Red chillies or cayenne pepper are the foods that burn fat and increase metabolism. So people who like spicy food can continue to consume their favorite food.
There are many advertisers these days who claim that they have foods that burn fat while you sleep. However, I have a question, why do these food products work when you are asleep and not when you are awake? Hence, I will stick to the natural fat burning foods rather than opt for some such fad diet food.
