Flicker of Hope Chapter 20 Part 2

*A single word sorry can not be enough for the eternity I have taken to post this chapter. No excuses guys. This story popped into my head out of nowhere, and it is hard to write everything down when life is a bit busy. If it still works, I hope you guys will forgive me. I know you guys are probably mad at me (good thing you cant come out of this computer to kill me, lol) but a little inspiration always helps.

No, It couldn't be true.
It wasn't real.
It just cant be.
Now that he had finally discovered his feelings for her, he cant lose her.She has become a part of his life, and a part of him. Life without her was not just impossible, but unimaginable.
She has to be okay.
She has to be.
He couldn't remember how he had gotten inside the hospital. Everything seemed so blury. He just couldn't bring himself to make anything out.
He only wanted her... needed her. She was more precious to him then anything else in his life.

She was his life now... his wife. Of all the decisions he has made in his life, marrying her was the biggest one, and how it has changed his life. Life without her in it, was like plant without water. She has loved him even when he had ignored the feelings inside of him. He had been ignorent, stupid for neglacting the feelings he had for her. He had been a fool to regect her, but life cant be this unfair. His fate cant get any worse.
Oh dear God, I love her so much. Please don't take her away from me. I am nothing without her. I need her to be with me. I need her. Oh please....

Her beautiful face clouded his mind, and the reality of it pierced his heart. The thought of not being able to touch her, to hold her, to see her beautiful eyes shine, was more than he could bare.
She had to live.
Life cannot be this mean to him if there wont be Emily, he will just be like the living dead. The life in him will be gone.
No, she had to be okay.
Life without her wasn't tolerable. Life without her wasn't life at all. She had vowed to him, and God, to be there in thick and thin—in every situation, and now that the time had come, she couldn't abounden him like that.
She needs to be okay.
She needs to live... for me.
God, please don't let anything happen to her..... I love her.

Tanner was not even sure how, but some how Jared, and Kelly were there sitting beside him—only he was not really sitting. He couldn't let himself relax. She was his wife; he is supposed to take care of her. Where did he go wrong?
He wished he has not been such a thick headed person; he wished he could redo every wrong thing he had done to her.
No, she was going to be fine.
If she loved him, even a bit as she claimed as did, she had to live for him... for the sake of their love.
She cant just leave things unfinished.
She has to live.
She cant just leave him.

He let out a wild cry,not even caring that people were watching. He covered his face in his hands, and let the pain consume him.
Someone gently touched his arm, and he raised his eyes to meet tear-streaked eyes of Kelly, and he knew without a doubt hat she knew how he was feeling, and what he was going through.
"You have to believe that she is going to be okay. You can´t loose hope." Even though her eyes were completely covered with tears, she had a confidence in the way she was speaking.
Without saying anything further, they embraced each other.
Here he was, hugging Kelly, Emily´s best friend, and he could completely see why Emily felt so close to Kelly. Emily could have been so happy to see Kelly. Only if....
"I-I love her s-so much....... S-she can´t ......" He couldn't bring himself to finish the sentence.

He was so afraid. He felt like a little boy, crying the way he was, but Kelly seemed to completely understand him. Her soft whispers of hope comforted him but it wasn't enough. The only person that could comfort him was the reason for all his pain.
He felt the pain inside of him getting worse with each passing minute. It was indeed true that love and pain always went together.
Jared sat there looking worried, and yet when he looked at Tanner, Tanner could see the rage in them. For some reasons, Tanner just wanted to punch Jared. After all, he was the reason for all this. If he hadn't called Emily.... If he hadn't asked her to meet him. Only when Jared apologized had Tanner realized that Emily had lied to him for Jared. Not that Jared was actually sincere in his apology, thought Tanner bitterly. But at this point, that was least of his concern.
Only Emily was what kept his heart beating crazily.
He couldn't understand why she lied to him? Why? She would have to answer that if she wakes up.....

If she wakes up...
The thought made him sick.
This wasn't how it was supposed to be. They had their entire life ahead of them. Emily can´t just...
No, she will live.
She cant just break her promise and leave him like that. He trusted her, and she cant break his heart. She won´t do anything to cause him pain, she loved him too much, but she cant leave him.....
His mind kept going back to her.
Just when he thought that things couldn't go any worse, he was proven wrong.
The doctor, a kind man in his late forties, with his habit balding slightly, and kind brown eyes, said. "I am sorry to say this, but I don't think she-"

He was cut of quickly by Tanner. "What do you mean?! Are you trying to say she wont make it?! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?! SHE WILL NEVER LEAVE ME. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT?!" His hand was immediately holding the doctor´s shirt. His eyes filling with pain that seemed to consume him and for a second, he could not bring himself to stop from hurting the doctor as if it was any of his fault.
The doctor seemed to be slightly mad but his face expression soon changed after looking at Tanner. The look in Tanner´s face was so filled with pain that the doctor felt himself soften towards the young man in front of him. It wasn't everyday he saw a guy loving someone so deeply. He could only pray that some miracle would keep them together.
Tanner quickly pulled away. "I-I am sorry," he whispered, his mind somewhere else. He could not bring himself to say anything anymore so great was his shock. Kelly put her hand in his shoulder comfortable, but he pulled away.

"She hit her head pretty hard, and I am sorry to say this, but she wont be able to remember the past 5 months of her life, and that is only if she remembers........" the doctor continued, completely oblivious to Tanner´s feelings. He couldn't bring himself to focus. He felt himself weaken, and forced himself to sit in the chair. Though his eyes were still at the wall in front of him, his mind was elsewhere.
Past couple of months was the time they had spent together. If she couldn't remember that, she would not remember him, and that is only if she remembers....

*** As a author I find it pretty discouraging when I dont get comments. I have never done this before, but if I wont get enough comment, I don´t think I will be able to finish this story anytime soon. I like to finish my work no matter how long it takes but if I won´t get enough comments, I am probably going to finish it within a couple of months or something. Comments inspire me and all the authors. When you guys take your time to write a single comment, authors will gladly write an entire new chapter for you!
