Flatulence is a common problem where the stomach and intestines are filled up excessively with gas. Basically, flatulence happens because of indigestion of foods. When some of the foods that we eat remain undigested inside the stomach and intestines, then some chemical reactions occur and causes formation of gases. These gases are then emitted in the form of wind and the condition is termed as flatulence. As it is not a very serious kind of health problem, flatulence cure is possible without any medical intervention.

Consumption of oily and spicy foods or fiber rich foods in large quantity which needs a lot of time to digest can be responsible for causing flatulence. It can be a symptom of underlying health problem like irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, digestive disorder like stomach flu, etc. Sometimes, forcibly eating when one is not hungry or eating at wrong time, psychological condition like anxiety, depression, anger, smoking habit can also cause flatulence. The common symptoms are too much passing of wind, belching, burping, abdominal pain, sense of fullness inside the stomach along with rumbling in the lower part of the abdomen.

Remedy #1
Take a cup of water, mix a teaspoon of baking soda and a pinch of table salt into it. Then squeeze juice of one lemon into the mixture and stir it thoroughly. Drink this mixture and you will get relief from flatulence very quickly.

Remedy #2
For an instant relief from flatulence discomfort, use garlic and ginger juice. Extract the juice from one or two garlic cloves and a small piece of ginger. Take a cup of lukewarm water and add the garlic juice and ginger juice into it and drink the solution. Wait for a few minutes and you will find that the uneasiness is gone.

Remedy #3
Add half teaspoonful of dry ginger powder, one pinch each of asafoetida and rock salt in a cup of warm water to prepare a concoction. Each of the ingredients used in this concoction have an amazing effect on the overall digestive system. Drink it regularly to cure flatulence.

Traditionally, herbal teas are being used for excessive flatulence. They have a healing effect on the digestive tract and improves digestion of food. Some of the widely used herbal teas are peppermint tea, spearmint tea, anise tea, caraway tea, etc.

If the problem bothers you particularly after a meal, then chewing peppermint leaves can provide you the right solution. Menthol present in peppermint have a soothing effect on the muscles of the digestive tract. Along with these remedial measures for flatulence cure, you have to take care of the foods that you are including in your diet.
