Combine these together, and its’ easy to see why the pant size of Americans are growing by the inch. Fortunately for all of us, there actually are very convenient, plentiful ways to counteract those pesky pounds, and here are five great ways of doing just that.
1. Starting small, a great way to help you keep weight off is to brush your teeth after every meal. Part of the weight-gain problem is that we often eat when we aren’t hungry – we’ll snack out of simple boredom. Brushing your teeth after each meal is great for your smile, but more importantly, that fresh, clean feeling sends signals to your body that the time to eat is over. You won’t be as likely to put those little fat-building snacks in your mouth between meals, and you can be sure to be cavity free!
2. Water doesn’t really get all of the attention it so rightly deserves. It’s unfortunately tossed aside as a "boring" drink when compared to modern soft drinks which are packed full of taste and flavor. This is bad, because not only do you need a certain amount of water per day, but those soft drinks are loaded with fattening calories and sugars that are damaging and will never be used by your body. Toss out those sodas and pick up water, and you can cut out as many as 245 calories in a single day. You’ll also feel better, have more energy, and you’ll be able to deal with the heat much better.
3. Try to eat the most food before noon. Many of us are eating on a backwards schedule – we may barely eat breakfast, but have large lunches with all kinds of different foods. Unfortunately, this is destructive as far as losing weight is concerned. When you eat in the evenings, your body has very few opportunities to rid itself of those calories before you go to bed. All of those calories are then converted into fat instead of being burned as fuel. Eating a large breakfast will energize you for the day, give your body a chance to burn all of those calories, and it will also cause you to be less hungry later on.
