Fight For Life, Chapter 19
Jill's always been a fighter; some say she could be a great lawyer, if she tried. But when she digs too deep into the disappearances in her hometown, she's thrown into a world where friends are either killing you or keeping you alive.

I blinked and opened my eyes. When did I fallen asleep? And... where am I?
I bolted upright and looked around. The room was dark and spacious. My eyes adjusted to the lack of light quickly, so I could see a window, blinds closed, and the door where light just peeked out from the cracks.
Slowly, I rolled out of the bed and started for the door. I opened it slowly, and saw two girls sitting on a couch. Their eyes immediately bolted to me, both frowning. They looked disgusted.
I saw fang marks on their necks, but they were probably days old. One of the girls had faded dark brown hair that fell straight to her hips, with gray eyes. She was tall, with a model's body and gorgeous cheekbones. The other was blonde, with burning green eyes. She was more curvy than the Brunette, shaped like an hourglass.
And they were both shooting me glares that would burn like the flames of Hell.
I looked between the two of them, then asked, "Could either of you two tell 'em where I am?"
The blonde sneered. "Your new home, unless Zander kills you off."
My stomach dropped. "Zander? He's here?"
The Brunette pursed her lips as she nodded. "Yeah. We're his girls, he was fine with us but he just had to get a new pet."
I blinked. "I'm lost here. What are you talking about?"
The blonde groaned. "Stupid bitch. Let's start with basics. I'm Erica, she's Celine. We're Zander's pets, from blood donors to play mates." Her green eyes glittered at the last bit. "We had a fight with the last girl, and she..." Erica exchanged a quick, secretive glance with Celine, "lost. Anyway, so he brought you in. And he's very protective of you, for some reason." She smiled. It wasn't nice, and it reminded me of a thunderstorm. "But he'll be done with you soon enough, and he'll let us take over."
I backed away slowly. "So you're saying you enjoy letting him munch on your neck, using your body, and then killing another girl?"
Erica shrugged. "He's mine. At least I get along with Celine. I can deal with her for now."
I blinked. "You're in love with him."
"Of course."
"You're suicidal."
Celine cleared her throat. "I wouldn't expect you to understand; our love for Zander is something nobody can understand unless you've felt it yourself."
I blinked, then shook my head. "Whatever, I want to be out of here just as much as you do. So, can you point me to the door that leads me out of here?"
Erica and Celine exchanged glances, then they both shrugged. "Through that door, down the hall, door in front of the foot of the stairs."
I nodded and turned, starting for the stairs. As I walked, I ran a hand through my hair. It was kind of greasy. How long had I been asleep?
I rounded down the stairs, but as I walked to the front door a warm, slightly confused voice asked, "And where do you think you're doing?
{*Stark*}
Stark wasn't calm. Anything but. It had been almost a whole day since Jill had been gone. He was pacing around in circles, worrying to the point of a disorder, watching Father Christopher talk to somebody on the phone.
Is she alive? She needs to be alive. She has to be alive. I need her to be alive, the voice in his head yammered on and on.
Stark had only felt this horrible, terrible feeling once in his life, and that was when he was waiting for Avery's sentencing. Either death or he would never see her again.
He thought of what he saw the next day, then went into a full-blown panic. He ran outside and knocked over a few trees, scared to the point of anger and panic, then Stark braced himself against the base of a tree and tried to control his breathing.
His only thought was, Please, please let Jill be alive and unharmed.
