Frosted Glass with Salt and Detergent

The equipment required for performing this experiment are, Epsom salt, a glass of water, a heat proof glass container, burner and detergent. If you are handling fire for the first time, then I would suggest you perform under the supervision of your teacher. Pour water into the container and add Epsom salt to it. Place it over the heat source and allow water to evaporate till the salt crystallizes at the bottom. Now add a little detergent to it and stir with a spatula. Observe the appearance of glass. Epsom salt will crystallize and look like small needles. This makes the glass frosted.
