The Netherlands and Brazil won their round of 16 matches respectively in the FIFA World Cup 2010, and have booked their places in the quarterfinals. Read ahead...
The Netherlands won against Slovakia 2-1 and go through to the quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup 2010. Though Slovakia would have loved to progress, they should not be too unhappy, as they managed to reach the last 16, even though they are not ranked in the top 20 in the world. Brazil defeated Chile 3-0 to advance closer to the title. Chile are ranked 18 in the world.

Netherlands 2 Slovakia 1
The Dutch were undefeated in 22 games coming into this game, and Slovakia just found out why. Of all the teams in the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the Dutch seem to know who their 11 best players are, which is why in this match we got to see their players with numbers 1 to 11 on their backs. In other words, they seem to be the most settled, relaxed and well integrated team in the competition. The Netherlands is also the only team in this World Cup, apart from Argentina, to reach the quarterfinals winning 4 games on the trot. They now face Brazil in their next game.

Brazil 3 Chile 0
Brazil's attack at times seem unsure of what they want to do. Where is the Samba soccer? Nevertheless, they have the individual skill and moments of brilliance. Brazil overpowered Chile 3 to nothing to set up a quarterfinal clash with the Netherlands, which will be a cracker of a game, one would imagine.
