Fever

A pain that becomes addictive...
Open my heart with your nightshade touch
The one for which I’ve been yearning
I don't play around with fire much
But I’m slow to learning

It puts fire in my veins
And makes my eyes water
I try to run and get staggered by pain
Not sure I could feel any hotter

You turn my body black from the inside out
And illuminate my cringing soul
Clouding my vision with doubt

Don't think I’ll ever get away
Rooted here to the ground I’ll stay
Apart of your velvety leaves
Within the heart of the darkest forest upon the hidden eaves
