Yin Colors
The colors that evoke the feelings of healing and relaxation, are called Yin colors, according to Feng Shui. These colors soothe you, and calm you down.
  • White: The color white represents calmness, purity, poise, and cleanness. It generates feelings of tranquility in your life, and clears your mind of any aggressive urges.
  • Blue: This is the color that reflects a perfect state of meditation, or healing of the body, or mind. A darker shade of blue, opens up the inner channels of wisdom in your personality. Blue also represents an association with nature, as it is the color of the sky, and the sea.
  • Purple: The color purple, symbolically, the last color of the spectrum, represents awareness. Awareness of the bigger picture brings about a complete feeling of physical and mental healing.
  • Black: Being the representation of income and money, the color black is great for progress in one's career. Power is also symbolized by this color.
Yang colors
Yang colors, on the other hand, motivate you. They provide you with enthusiasm, and drive, by charging up your cells. The birth of passion, in any form, is said to be generated by the influence of the Yang colors.
  • Yellow: The color yellow represents the sun, and therefore, generates, and stimulates energy in our system. Cheerfulness, friendliness, and constant motion are the results. But, it is also said that over-exposure to the color yellow, can make you very restless, and anxious.
  • Orange: The color orange provides you with the right mental tools to organize your thoughts, and express them. Your concentration gets enhanced, and your creative processes get a suitable outlet.

Feng Shui propagates, that every energy, or emotion, in the world, falls in either of these two categories, Yin or Yang.
