Feeling Alittle Paranoid? - Avoiding Bad Business Practices

We've all been there once or twice in our lives. Feeling as if someone is always lurking in the shadows ready to pounce on our unexpecting bodies, or monitoring our every move through hidden agendas and spies. Yes, we've all been there and surely you can understand, if not have some form of laughable sympathy, for these individuals that do dwell in the shadows watching like voyeurs staring at some innocent high school girl undress through her bedroom window at night. But what if these voyeurs were businesses? Sending in their cohorts acting as friends or customers to gain inside information? What do you do and how do you prevent this immature act of selfishness from happening again?

Without getting yourself into trouble or playing their silly games, you simply turn your back, move on, and open your arms in welcome to their former business that will 9 out of 10 times become your business because Karma always has a way of working out for those that are innocent victims. Much like the bully that resides in every neighborhood and walks the streets in every city, the businesses that practice these unethical tactics always find themselves without customers, business, and hope and will end up laying on their backs, holding their bleeding noses crying because they never thought it could happen to them.

In more than one way you will always benefit from the acts the unscrupulous owners of other businesses commit.

1. They will always provide you with free advertising because inorder to send spies or bad mouth your company, they have to first acknowledge that your business even exists to themselves, then secondly, they have to announce it in some way, shape or form, to others. This will invariably create a stream of business for you. This tactic will always blow up in the face of the unscrupulous owners because people have brains of their own and will make justified decisions for themselves. Word-of-mouth advertising is always the most sought after form of advertising because it is free and keeps your business in the minds of potential customers. So why not let other businesses advertise for you?


2. Eventually, it will be viewed as unethical and extremely poor business practices by those that used to frequent the business and will leave to find a more 'friendly-oriented' business that believes in being a partner rather than a neighborhood bully. This, for the most part, usually makes the offensive business close their doors with a large black and red sign that reads, "Closed - Gone Out Of Business".

So, if you own a business, either brick and mortar or on the ole internet, don't worry about negative feedback or business practices that others commit because you will never be able to escape the bullies, spies, and backstabbers but you can use them to your advantage. Let's face it...even the ones creating the drama are sheep themselves.
