Federal Funds Going Unspent for Special Schools

Find out how education funding is hitting the headlines these days.
According to some research that has been done in many schools, much of the billions of dollars in federal funding that is earmarked for special education is going unspent.

Many schools are falling short when it comes to Free Appropriate Public Education, claiming they do not have the funds for special education for the children that need this type of slower paced curriculum.

While it has been proven that the funding is there and the schools are not using it for the intended purpose, parents of these children are being told to take their children elsewhere or the children are falling through the cracks and failing in traditional classroom environments. There has not been any reported lawsuit action as of yet.

These future adults are going without the proper education to prepare them to be successful adults. At the same time many of these funds are being given to charter schools that are leaving the funds unspent.

Instead the money is being funneled back into the general funding and spent on projects within the schools, while the parents of these children are being left out in the cold and the child is not receiving the guaranteed public education they deserve according to Free Appropriate Public Education laws. Lawsuit funding may in fact be one of the next big issues to hit the mainstream in the near future.
