Fear Factor Birthday Party Ideas
So, remember the cool games that we spoke about in my previous article about fear factor birthday parties? Well, I decided let's take it one step forward this time. We shall discuss more broad based ideas in this article.
Dummy Run One
Remember the scary parties we used to have as kids? A Halloween theme could be a good idea for your fear factor party. But, the dressing cannot be anything but "horror-related". The music could be inspired by horror flicks and you could try facing a projector to the ceiling and showing scary faces. Not much to do with fear till here, but a shriek at midnight and a sudden flickering of the lights could do the trick. Wheels of the mind turning yet? Get set then!
Dummy Run Two
You could try a party in the woods. This can add the fear factor of raw nature at night, to your party. No tents, no sleeping bags, no route maps, just pure, magnificent and ruthless nature. You could encounter a lot along the way, good and bad. My advice, carry a well-equipped first aid kit. It better contain anti-venom and mosquito repellents. Let this party be a small one, fear factor is inversely proportional to the number of people around. The lesser, the better.
Dummy Run Three
Another thing you could give a thought to, is adventure sports, all the way. The party could be a complete day of bungee jumping, rock climbing and the works. Basically, there are no options. Everyone has to do everything. There should be no consideration for gender of "fear factor". They say face your fears, here is your chance to do just that!
Dummy Run Four
Afraid of creepy-crawlies? The theme of your Fear Factor party could be just that. Try to have the entrance carpeted with earthworms, the people have to walk in bare feet. Venom-less snakes could be your additional crawling guests (let's not tell the others that they are completely harmless). You could also have in a few lizards on the wall. Green punch and noodles would be the best menu to match the creepy sensations. (Disclaimer: This party should be done only with complete awareness of the guests. One freaked out friend can render the party disastrous!)
Dummy Run Five
This one is probably the easiest to manage and could probably have a romantic result. In case it's just a "party of two" or a double date of sorts, you could try a grotesque horror movie spree. Although, a genuine concern would be the food you eat just before you begin, this idea could often lead to projectile vomiting. Try not being the one who starts it. Men, this idea could help you to get the lady physically closer to you. So if she is acting pricey, here is your ace!
Bonus Run
In case, the birthday party is for, or in the honor of, a certain specific friend who is completely phobic to commitment (like my guy!) you could try a wedding theme. You could throw in a wedding proposal too, to make the friend (assuming it could be a guy, or a girl) as antsy as possible. They wanted freaky - give it to them, where it freaks the most! An added advantage of this theme would be the sheer elegance and beauty in the party, teamed with the "petrificus totalus" look on your friend's face!
Parties are a fun activity. They are often used to break the ice. Fear factor parties are fun, but it is my genuine urge, do no cross the line. In case you see someone getting overly stressed or hyperventilating, get them help at the earliest. Fun, is the outcome that one should get from the party, not pain, in any way! Once, these prerequisites are well taken care of, you are all set - to set the roof on fire!!
