FDA Approved Appetite Suppressant

The pill stimulates the Bilateral lesion of hypothalamus and in turn, decreases the appetite or 'hunger' of a person. Diethylpropion (Tenuate), Phentermine (Adipex-P, Fastin, Ionamin) are some prominent appetite suppressants from the Sympathomimetic family that are FDA approved.
Phentermine
Extreme obesity is really difficult to get rid of. In such a case, one of the best option is to get an appetite suppressant. It must be noted that Phentermine is to be used only with diet and exercise, without it, it gives no effect or cause negative effects. This suppressant is typically prescribed to the people who suffer from high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol, and in cases where obesity and weight needs to be reduced on a war footing. This prescription suppressant is sold in the form of tablet or extended-release capsule and it has two dosage patterns, depending upon a person's ailments. The tablet is supposed to be taken up 30 minutes before a meal. It must be noted the dosage and time period of the dosage is a critical issue as there are some significant side effects of this drug that include, a dry mouth, sleeplessness and in graver situations, high blood pressures, increased heart rates and worst of all addiction, dependency and substance abuse. A dosage above 12 weeks is a strict no-no as there are very high chances that it may lead to substance abuse and addiction.
Xenical
Xenical is among the early diet pills and appetite suppressants which were approved by the FDA. Xenical was approved as a prescription drug by the FDA in 1999 and it still is quite popular, and is a prescription drug even today. The mechanism of Xenical is such that it acts within the digestive system and reportedly blocks about 30% of the fat that is entering the human body. There are three prominent side effects of Xenical, which include, oily stools, abnormal and frequent bowel movement and lastly, gas. Maintaining a completely fat-free diet is an integral aspect of the Xenical dosage. A fatty diet accelerates the side effects and total effect of the diets reveres or kick backs, increasing the weight and obesity.
Diethylpropion, Phendimetrazine, Orlistat, Bupropion, Meridia and Zonisamide are some other prominent FDA approved appetite suppressants. It must be noted that almost all appetite suppressants are prescription medications and you also need to maintain a very, very strict dosage cycle of these drugs, as they do have some or the other side effects.
