First take off the cover of the handle known as the screw cover using a faucet handle puller or a flathead screwdriver. Then, use pliers or a screwdriver to turn the screw slot hard enough that is present inside the handle. It needs to be turned hard because a screw head usually is rigid if it's getting replaced in yonks. Once the head screwdriver comes off, tighten down the clamp and pull it away from the valve of the faucet.

This procedure is suited for a single handle faucet repair. For a dual handle faucet, you will have to repeat the procedure of twisting the screw once again. You have successfully driven out a faucet handle from its position. Now it's time for a repair!

Repairing Instructions

Once you are clear with the procedure of removal, after you pull away the handle from its position, keep a new one ready for a replacement. Attach the new faucet handle back to its original faucet stem place. Do it by screwing it back in the correct position. Once that is fixed, replace the handle's cap cover back on the faucet handle. The moment you do that, apply a slighter than normal pressure until you hear a clicking sound. If you hear that, your handle is good to use! Wait for a while and then turn the faucet to check the water intensity. Ensure that there are no sustaining leaks in the finishing process of the leaky faucet. Generally it's known that a single handled faucet have facets like ceramic-disc valves, balls and cartridges. On the other hand, a dual handled faucet has a compression valve and stainless steel discs.
