Fate - Ch. 3
Thanks for the comments, I may have to hold up with my story for a few days, I'm moving to a new location tomorrow so I'm hoping to get to use a computer Monday...
Rosie is laying in a bed, thinking of the recent event, just an hour ago. Her and Korey is staying in a hotel for tonight, and then leave to somewhere.
She stared at her hand, still bleeding a bit, but she kept the torn shirt around her hand.
Korey entered the room, and saw Rosie in bed, looking depressed.
"Brought you some food," he softly said.
She looked up, "I could've got my own food."
"No, you need to stay here so werewolves can lose your scent. Plus they can be in their human forms searching for you," then he sat down on the bed. "Hope you like McDonalds."
"Yeah, that's fine," she sighed and grabbed some food. "Why are they after me?"
"Because you were part of their supper five years ago, and they always kill their prey. You seen them, now they want you more than ever. Nobody gets away from their attacks," he whispered.
Rosie took a bite of the quarter pounder and scowled, "I'm sorry about my rude behavior earlier. I didn't understand..."
Korey grabbed her knee and smiled, "I understand. It's hard for a human to fully grasp all of this stuff. I know I can get into trouble by helping humans, but I don't know, you seem different."
Rosie sat the burger down, "Is that good?"
"Yes," he smiled.
She started to blush and looked into the bag, "You're not hungry?"
"I'm not fond of fast food. The grease would kill me."
Rosie took the last bite of her burger and swallowed, "So, what's your favorite food, and please don't say blood!" she whined.
Korey chuckled, "No, blood is just for emergencies. I can eat anything, meat loaf, garlic, spegetti, you name it."
Rosie threw the scraps away and looked at her hand again. "Man, I thought it would quit bleeding by now."
Korey grabbed her hand, took the cloth off, and stared.
"Do you have tweezers or anything sharp?" he asked.
"No, why?"
"There's glass in your hand. I need to get it out," he sighed. "Can you trust me?"
"Why?"
"I'm going to get the glass out," he softly said.
"As long as you don't hurt me," she whispered.
"I didn't mean to hurt you this morning," he murmured.
His fangs extended, and Rosie's eyes watched them. Her heart trying to pound out of her rib cage.
"Calm down!" Korey softly said.
"I can't!" she cried.
"Relax, Rosie. Close your eyes, and you'll be fine."
"Okay," then Rosie shut her eyes tight.
I shouldn't do this. I should go find a needle. This is risky. Korey thought.
Korey brought her hand up to his mouth and carefully putting his fangs into her cut. He moved the glass away from the cut, picking it away from her.
Rosie can feel the prickle against her skin. The fear turning into relaxation. She opened her eyes and watched him work.
He got the pieces out, and looked up to see Rosie staring at him. His tongue ran over his fangs and they went away. The taste of her blood is sweet like sugar.
Man, this is going to be hard. he thought.
"You feel distressed." Rosie softly said.
Korey stared at Rosie's face, "How do you know?"
"When the werewolf was trying to attack me, I could feel your presence near."
He shook his head and closed his eyes, "This is my fault. I never thought about my blood mixing in your body, but the werewolf wound. I'm sorry."
"Don't worry. You care for me."
Korey smiled and grabbed Rosie's hand, "You can be completely honest; do you care for me?"
"I don't know, I really don't know you. But you been protecting me the past five years, so," she got quiet.
"I understand," Korey sighed. "You better get some sleep, tomorrow is a big day."
"Are you going to sleep?" Rosie asked.
"No, going to watch over you."
Rosie pulled the covers up and slid into bed. The soft pillow and the comfy bed. She snuggled into the pillow and drifted asleep.
She stared at her hand, still bleeding a bit, but she kept the torn shirt around her hand.
