Fashionably Late Chapter 4

The next day started out busy as usual. I woke up late, rushed to work, has been busy with orders from the boss, spending all my energy trying to avoid Jason (have succeeded so far), and now I'm sitting at my desk for a five second break from my day. "Isabelle I've found the perfect guy to be your 'boyfriend'." Chelsie announced walking into my office.
"Who is he?" I asked dreading the answer.
"You don't have to say yes because it will be a bit awkward." Chelsie started to say.
"Chels just spit it out." I interrupted.
"Okay what if Alec was your 'boyfriend'. I've already spoken to him about it and he thinks it's the safest way." Chelsie replied.

"What do you mean 'safest way'?" I asked analyzing her.
"Well he's afraid that Jason might get close to you and break your heart again. But don't be mad he is just looking out for you."
I my heart melted a bit, he cares about my feelings. Snap out of it Isabelle. I mentally thought to myself. "Yeah I know." Chelsie was interrupted when there was a knock at my door, it was Jason. I shot a panicked look to Chelsie before she opened the door and slipped out of the room mouthing sorry. I just stared at Jason for awhile. He was still gorgeous as ever, blond hair dazzling pale blue eyes. "Hello, Jason." I said as friendly as I could manage.

"Hello, Isabelle." He replied his face expressionless but I thought I saw pity flicker across his features. That set me off, I was boiling mad at this jerk who felt pity for me. I was going to get him good. "Hello is all you can say after you abandoned me with no explanation at all and all you can say is 'Hello'." I was shouting now my anger radiating off my body. I could feel it fill the room.
"I'm sorry for leaving you I was stupid and arrogant and a jerk. But Isabelle I missed you every second of the day and Bellie Bear I want you back." He told me his face pleading. I looked away from him, he was starting to soften me up especially after he pulled the nickname card. Isabelle focus on being mad at him remember what he did to you. "Well Jason I don't want you. I don't love you. In fact I have a boyfriend with whom I'm madly in love with." I lied about some of it. I was starting to have feelings for Alec but I've always loved him not just in love with him until now.

His poker face was back and he showed no evidence of pain or rejection. "Fine if that's what you want." He replied and stormed out of the office slamming the door behind him. I started to break down then. How many nights did I spend wishing that he would come back to me? I just had it and let it go. Tears were falling down my face like my own personal waterfall. Chelsie ran in and hugged me saying that Alec is going to pick me up.

I climbed into the car and we sped off, Alec holding me against his chest. Alec carried me up to our apartment and he sat on the couch holding me against his chest while I bawled and told him in half choked sobs about what happened that day. "Shhhh sweetheart everything is going to be okay. I got ya'" Alec told me soothing away the pain. I nodded and stopped crying now just hiccuping. His midnight blue eyes had me under a spell again and I slowly leaned in and kissed his cheek. Alec smiled at me. "What was that for?" He asked still smiling.

"For listening to me and being there not just for today but for all the times I've cried." I replied blushing at my honesty.
"Honey it was my pleasure." Alec replied tilting my head up to his. We both slowly leaned in and my lips touched his. I wondered if it was possible to die and go to heaven then come back to the world as a new person. If it was then that just happened to me. His lips were delicious and mesmerizing. Slowly we moved further and his tongue slid into my mouth. I was in love. We stopped and were panting for our breath but I had to yawn. Alec chuckled, how I love his laugh. "You should rest." Alec told me wrapping a blanket around me. I nodded and slowly drifted to sleep against his chest dreaming sweet dreams and they all involved him.
