I know not under what circumstances were they composed. I know not what was the artists' muse when they made such music. All I know is that nothing's as beautiful a genre of literature as that of the ballads. Let me state it right at the outset, I'm not going to reason out the popularity quotient of these ballads, list of which is to follow below. Instead, I'll just mention the names of those ballads which make you tumble with joy saying, 'omg! This one's awesome', or 'yeah! I've heard this one. It's beautiful'. The most famous ballad poems turned out to be the biggest chartbusters of their respective decades, only because of their lyrical quality, and musical substance.
